Definitely something you should visit at least once when in St. Augustine. We toured Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, had drinks at Meehan's and went down St George Street to Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. There are so many cute and interesting and unique shops there. Anything from swords, to steampunk, to candy and python jerky. You definitely want to allow yourself at least a few hours to explore all the little shops. There are also little alleys that branch out that have a lot more shops . You can get all the souvenirs you want. The shop keepers that we interacted with had great personalities and we made small talk here and there. They make sure to let you know that tourists are welcome (I mean seeing how it's their source of business), but in some places you are treated with annoyance, weirdly enough. Not in St. Augustine. We really enjoyed our stroll down the street and all the purchases barely fit into our carry on bags 😅 the architecture, the history, the atmosphere is...
Read moreThis is a pedestrian street lined with historic buildings that are full of shops and restaurants. Everything is beautifully maintained and very clean. There seemed to be plenty of parking nearby (prices weren't bad) and we were able to find the public restrooms. At one end you'll find the historic governor's house, which is free to visit, and the old city gate at the other end. Not far from St. George Street is Castillo de San Marcos, the Lightner Museum, and many other attractions, that are all walkable. So there is plenty to do in the direct area. It's really one of my favorite place in Florida. The Coquina walls can be spotted throughout...
Read moreThere was a lot to see and eat but it was definitely priced towards tourists. Some shops were close to reasonable while others were eye popping. There were lots of different eateries and boutique type shops and probably something for everyone. There seemed to be ample benches to rest on but they wouldn’t stay empty for long. I don’t think all of the shops were wheelchair accessible but that was fine with me. I would stay outside and guard the street while the crew did their thing. Overall it was enjoyable and I would say 3.5 stars overall. You should visit it at least once during an...
