Going to Salem has been a life long dream of mine. I curated a very specific list of things to do and see while there and DWYBO was one of the top items on my list as I love the shop and have been a huge fan of it for several years now. I've only ever been able to shop online til this week.
I went in on the afternoon of Monday 9/26 (i see another review from that day and dont know that person but feel for them as well).
I don't know if it was just me, the fact I was dressed touristy (i love to dress on theme), it looked like I wasn't buying much (when in reality I was also picking up a $140 order I placed prior to flying in while I was there) or the person just really isn't that friendly but customer service sucked.
I was never greeted, no one ever asked if I needed help (there was maybe 2 people in the store) and the person at the front (red hair) was really rude. I mean like really rude. Dismissive of my question as they didn't have an answer. It was clear they didn't want to find an answer either. Unresponsive to my small talk. Literally just wanted to bark my total at me.
It may seem silly but it really put a cloud over my day. They need to be trained in proper customer service. How I was treated was really not cool and I expected better...
Read moreI was super excited to buy shoes at this store while on vacation in Salem, however it ended up extremely disappointing. I understand it's Halloween and that's why everything was picked over, but stock should have been doubled up on to prepare for the surplus of people. Almost every shoe was gone, and none in my size.
Also, there was a long line of people to enter the store (nothing wrong with that at all and not what I'm upset about), and there was only one employee on the floor helping people (red bob hair). She was giving 100% of her attention to only one woman and completely ignoring everyone else that were hovering around the shoe wall waiting to try on shoes. She had her back completely turned and was ignoring everyone. The woman she was helping was in no hurry to leave and trying on every shoe she could and being indecisive. If a customer is acting like that and there's a ton of people waiting, then the employee should start helping other people too. I worked retail for years and in training they told us to never do that. It's just terrible customer service. It held up the line outside and also created a 2nd line inside. I'm sure when it's not halloween season customer service is better, but from the experience I got, it...
Read moreWas a regular patron and spent close to an accumulated $300 here total through their online shop & physical store. Love everything they sell but my last (and I mean last) visit was extremely uncomfortable. I wanted to visit DWYBO one more time before I moved states and I was super disappointed in the final experience. Most of the staff were nice if really pushy in terms of buying things; I understand things are tough and it’s nearly your guys’ peak sales time but it was to the level of I couldn’t look in peace for five minutes without someone pushing me to try something on. The person with short red bobish hair behind the counter also seemed very combative and uninterested, they even gave me some hassle when I was returning a pair of shoes that didn’t fit which I purchased the day before saying they were “scuffed”. I wore them in the house once and was returning them the day after. They also waited blankly in front of me when I was waiting to check out, I had to ask if I was done or if someone would ring me up. Thankfully I know where the majority of their inventory comes from and can order directly from the brands...
