New England Dog Biscuit Company — Local services in Salem

It's a cute shop, and they have a very good selection of natural and grain-free pet products. However, the young woman behind the counter was insufferable. I don't know if she'd had a bad day, or simply didn't like something about me, but she was rude, impatient, and had no problem letting me know that she didn't appreciate me interrupting what she was doing (prepping dog treats for baking).

I've worked retail, and I know how annoying customers can be, so I wasn't in her face with a hundred questions, yet, she acted as though my presence in the store just irked her soul. It's unfortunate, because I wanted to purchase more items, but her rudeness was endlessly off-putting. I went there to buy dog treats for the office dog, but also wanted to get a few things for my cat and dog at home. I didn't bother with getting anything extra, because why would I blow my hard-earned money in a store that clearly didn't appreciate my visit?

I ended up buying the one bag of dog treats, even after she snidely told me that they were located at the front of the store. I'd mistakenly thought the ones in the case were refrigerated, and asked for them. She rudely told me that I could get them on my own, and honestly, I thought about walking out without getting anything. However, these were a gift for the office dog, so I sucked it up and bought a bag. It was my first time in this shop, as it was my first visit to Salem, and while I very much enjoyed my trip, I will not return to New England...

This place is amazing. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed. We felt comfortable with owner right away. She really makes you feel at home. We are from jersey (so we arent used to such great caring service). Our pup turns 2 on Saturday 10/10 so we wanted to get her a bday cake. We also got them a bunch of homemade fresh treats to go home with. They all look amazing and we can't wait for the pups to get their paws on them. We have a diabetic pup and the owner had instant answers what to get him and was truly concerned about feeding him correctly not making the sale. She truly is amazing and we will he ordering from her through her online business going forward. We also will be referring all our pup loving friends to her as well.

Thank you for such amazing service. You truly are amazing and we cant wait to visit you again when in New England... this time we will bring the pups on...

Walked in anticipating to buy a couple toys for our best friends dog, Sadie - ended up buying that and so much more! This place is full of cute toys for both cats and dogs. Furthermore, they have a good variety of unique toys along with the classic your classic staple items.

Did I mention the inhouse bakery for dog biscuits and other treats?! We were able to buy a bag of locally made dog biscuits for our pup and a large birthday "dog cake" for Sadie. Lastly, the staff was super helpful and...
