I was with a group of 7 planning to visit Salem this past Saturday 2 October. We dropped the ball on planning, so I didn't have high hopes in terms of booking a ghost tour to end the night. After seeing one after the other sold out, I went to Black Cat. My wife and I had done a tour with them a few years back and loved it, so I thought we'd try and do another one. Imagine my surprise when I saw on their website that they still had availability for the 8pm ghost tour the next night. When I Facebook messaged them to confirm that was the case, they responded immediately, said yes, AND offered me a discount off my booking! The tour the next night was fantastic-Olivia is a master storyteller and kept our attention the entire time despite the numerous other tours that were roaming around the same areas we were. The 90 minutes went by so fast but when I looked back, I realized just how many sites/stories she had covered and was really impressed. It was the perfect way to cap off what ended up being a perfect day in Salem for our whole group. I'm a museum curator and have given my fair share of tours and I can tell you this: Black Cat is the real deal. Check them out, you won't be...

We did the 8pm Ghost Walk followed by the 10pm Prowl on a Friday night in September. The stories were interesting and the presenters Vin for the Ghost Walk and Daniel for the Prowl were both fantastic (project their voice, bit of comedy in there, etc). The distance wasn't too far to walk (though on top of a 14 hour day traversing the city we were desperate to sit on anything we could find). I will mention some setbacks that reflect the experience despite mostly being out of the company's hands. With the tours being downtown, the rowdiness of the surrounding drunks are a big detractor. It's periodically difficult to hear over music or drunken shouting, and more often then not this completely removes from the spooky atmosphere. Locals will literally scream out their cars judgementally at you for attending said tours. Also, we did the Ghost tour followed by the Prowl which had about 25% overlap in stories and content, plus 90% overlap for travel route despite one supposedly being adult only content. Maybe the company can consider discounting when attending both walks for...

My husband and I recently went on the Salem Black Cat Ghost Tour, and it was an unforgettable experience! Despite the pouring rain, our tour guide was a phenomenal storyteller who expertly wove together the dark and ghostly history of Salem's famous hot spots along with some intriguing lesser-known "cold" spots.

The rain added an extra layer of spookiness to the atmosphere, and we were impressed by our guide's dedication as they weathered the storm right alongside us. Their enthusiasm and knowledge of the area's history truly shone through, keeping us engaged and captivated throughout the tour.

If you're looking for a unique and fun adventure in Salem, I highly recommend the Black Cat Ghost Tour. It's an excellent way to dive deep into the city's haunted past with a guide who knows how to bring it to life. Don't miss out on this eerie yet incredibly enjoyable experience! Don't forget to yell "SHAZAM" before...

I tried to a book tour with other company’s in Salem a few days before we left for our trip. Most didn’t have any availability and others, the reviews weren’t so great. I was skeptical about Black Cat tours at first because they didn’t have many reviews. Also, while searching online, they didn’t come up as easily. I decided to book with them so we could have a tour and honestly, best decision I’ve made. Tour was very interesting and our guide David was Knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining when telling the stories of Salem. He was also polite and courteous to other groups and led us around town effectively. Tour was easy to check in to and they gave us easy instructions to follow before we started. Tours were also very reasonably priced. Book this tour if you just want the scoop and the stories of Salem and no gimmicks.

My wife and I didn't enjoy the 8pm ghost tour at all. The tour guide was nice, but was not a story teller at all. The tour was extremely boring and we kept running in to other tours. I actually heard the tour guide of another company next to us telling his group a story and the two minutes I listened to him was more entertaining than our entire tour. Two or three people actually left towards the beginning of the tour. We stayed for more than half, but couldn't listen to basically the same story with different characters at every location, so we left before the tour ended as well. I would 100% recommend a ghost tour when visiting Salem, but I 100% would not recommend Black Cat Tours.

First time visiting Salem and I must say the Black Cat Tour was my favorite part of my trip! Our tour guide, Vin, had great delivery in telling us ghost stories. He was very knowledgeable and transparent in saying if he didn’t know an answer to our question, he wouldn’t make something up. He accepted questions but was so thorough, our group hardly had any to ask! I learned a lot about the history of Salem, I even took notes. I had visited the Peabody Essex Museum earlier in the day so I felt the knowledge I gained in the museum was further expanded on with the stories Vin shared. There was nothing I would change about the tour! Thank you again, Vin!
