Although Iâve had good experiences in the past, I was greatly disappointed with my service this time. I live 30 minutes from the dealership, and I began having 7 different errors flash on my dashboard. I took off work to get my 1 1/2 year old vehicle to the shop to check out these errors, and I also had them change the oil. I took off work later in the day to go pick it up. They told me they thought I had tainted gasoline, and that until I refilled with premium gas, they couldnât reset the errors. So in order to get this taken care of, I would have to take more time off work to bring the vehicle back another day. I really wish they would called and given me the option of having THEM fill the tank with premium gas (at my expense), and then get the errors clearedâresolving the issue in one trip. That would have been great customer service. I paid for my oil change and left. As soon as I hit the interstate, another NEW error showed up on my dashboard âEngine Oil Lowâ. This one would not go away, and kept sounding an alarm. I called the dealership on my way home and they said they were going to check with the technician. They called me back a few minutes later and said they think they forgot to put the plug back in and that I needed to turn around immediately and head back to the shop. By that time, I had driven 20 miles with little to no oil. My son was graduating in about an hour and I didnât have time to make another trip to/from Salina without missing the graduation. I pulled over and they sent a loaner vehicle out to me. The next day they called and said they had thoroughly checked the engine, and there was no damage. They also drained my gas tank and refilled it with premium and cleared the original errors. While I really appreciate these gestures, I feel like a major error like failing to replace the plug would have resulted in at least offering the oil change at no charge, if not more. There was never any offer of this. This situation caused a LOT of stress and frustration that could have been avoided. After buying 4 vehicles from Conklin, Iâm not sure...
Read moreThis was easily the greatest car buying experience I have ever had. The morning that we bought our car my wife had asked me "when can we look into getting a minivan?" We don't have a Honda dealership where we live and the closest one is probably 100 miles away. I asked her if Salina had a dealership, thinking we could look at some vehicles to break up our 6.5 hour drive. She said that she thought they did, so I got online to check. I found a van that had all of the options that she wanted, minus heated seats. I was in meetings all day so texting was my only means of communication. I texted Matt at about 10 or 11 to see if the vehicle was still available and it was. I just thought I would get down to business and asked if they would sell it for a price that I thought was fair for both parties. I heard back in about 20 minutes that he was willing to sell it for that price. I then had a realization that I might be buying a vehicle today...we quickly agreed on a price on my trade in after I gave him my honest assessment of what my vehicle needed to be ready to be sold: a windshield, small dent in back bumper, and a good detail. My last request, and I thought it might be a deal breaker, was that I wanted all of the paperwork done when I got there so that all I had to do was sign and get back on the road. I provided all of our information over the phone and when I got there it was all ready to go. They helped me switch over 3 car seats and clean out all of our stuff and get it transferred to the van. My wife and I signed the paperwork and were back on the road. I think we were only there a total of 45 minutes, even having to transfer all of our bags and car seats over. I will definitely buy my next Honda vehicle from Conklin, and I will be sure that I ask for...
Read moreI was told my recall repair would take 4-6 hours and that they didnât work from noon to 1pm for lunch. I had a 1pm appointment. I showed up very early, I drove from my home 3 hours away. Dropped car in service at 11:39am, then went inside and hunkered down for the long wait. And, i was told they absolutely do not work over lunch hour from noon to 1pm before doing so. At promptly 1pm they came into the waiting area to say my car was done. I literally asked if they had the wrong person. She double checked and said no. At this point I have no clue how they fixed it in 21 minutes or why I had to wait til 1pm then to get it back, I guess they had to go to lunch then. I was just thankful I didnât have to sit 4-6 hours as I was quoted. I didnât give five stars because telling someone that had a 6 hour round trip drive that a repair will be 4-6 hours and then it actually only taking 21 minutes and the lunch wait to retrieve it back is a lot. Again, I am very thankful it didnât take that long. But, you have no idea the anxiety this caused, since I had so far to drive round trip for this repair. I nearly came in the night before and paid for a hotel room thinking Iâd be sitting and waiting so long. Itâs really important that time be given appropriate to the situation for those of us driving such distances. The reason given to me for the discrepancy in time was, âwhen the recalls first came out it was taking us a long time to do them, but we have them down now and it doesnât take as longâ. Perhaps updating your script when making the recall appointments would be a good...
