I had the worst experience here on 07/14/2025. I have been doing research for a new TV and they happen to have it in stock. I stopped in to look at it and it was even better looking in person than online so I asked to have it put in my business name using my EIN so he left me at the register 3 times to ask how to do it. So after 20 minutes he asked for my ID and then asked for my social security number and I reminded him that this was going under my business EIN so I gave him this info. He proceeded to ask if he could call the bank for verification and I said yes. He put the phone on speaker and a Citi bank rep answered and asked if he was a best buy employee and how he verified my info and he said my id. She asked to speak to me and one of her questions was for my social security number and I explained to her that I was doing this using my EIN and then she asked for my address so I gave it to her so I asked what did my address have to do with my business and she said that we do not do business accounts and I said why nobody say that after waiting 25 minutes now and she asked if I would like to continue and I said no so I asked the store employee to speak to the manager and I explained that they should have told me they do not do business accounts instead of waisting my time. She was very rude and condescending saying what would you like me to do and that she was not going to say anything to the employee in front of me and I said that I was not expecting her to but I needed her name and the store number with. Corporates phone number so that I could make a complaint. Well she gave me a customer support number that gave nothing to do with Corporate. I live less than 15 miles from that location and before I got home a notification popped up on my phone from Equifax saying that my credit was run from Citi bank/Best Buy. I am mad because I never gave them my social security number and they can't answer me how they got my info because I never gave it to them and they are passing the buck saying it was Citi bank and Citi is saying it's best buy so now I have a inquire on my credit report that is going to be on there for 2 years messing up my 800 plus score and all I asked from them is to remove it and finally I had to use AI to find the real corporate information and email address so I could complain and I got a phone call back the next day on a Saturday that I missed and then received an email from them so I called back and we discussed what happened so I gave her the exact date and time so she can go and listen to the phone conversation and see that I never gave my social. She researched and said she could not find any thing on me from my name, social, phone number and I said that I had a Best Buy account over 20 years ago and she said that she can not even find that information. She said that she has a direct line to Citi banks fraud department to see about getting this removed and that I would hear back in about 15 days. I'm waiting to hear back from them. If this has happened to anybody else please reach out or leave a comment because I Googled this and they have been in trouble in the past for doing this same thing before. I attached a letter that I got from best buy credit yesterday showing that they did run my information I removed personal information to show that...
Read moreI ordered a new dishwasher on 3/7/2020 for delivery on 3/21/2020. The day before (3/20/2020) I received a confirmation text that the dishwasher would be delivered between 10:30am and 12:30pm on 3/21/2020. Then I received an email that all installations through Best Buy would be postponed. I was just getting the new dish washer delivered, not installed, and I was keeping the old dishwasher. So I called Best Buy to verify if I was going to get the dish washer delivered on 3/21/2020 or not (over an hour wait on the phone). So I decided to use online chat. I was assured that the delivery was still on for 3/21/2020. Well 3/21/2020 came and about an hour after the end of the delivery window I called Best Buy to see what was going on. After 2 hours holding on the phone (with a canned message that stated that all deliveries were still on, that the item would be left in the driveway, no installations) I decided to have them call me back. About an hour later Best Buy called back and said that they would have to reschedule to 4/7/2020. I asked how they could be sure that they would be able to deliver on 4/7/2020, and they told me that they couldn't. So I asked how can I get my dishwasher today, and they told me that there was one dishwasher available in a store about 45 minutes away. I told them to change my order from delivery to store pick up, which they said that they did. So I drove 45 minutes to the store, was told that they have the dishwasher, confirmed that I had already paid for it, but that they couldn't release it to me until someone at Best Buy changed the order from delivery to store pickup, which apparently no one at the store could do. And the store was closing, so I couldn't wait around to see if someone at Best Buy eventually changed it. They told me that they could cancel the order and recharge me again to pick it up in store, but then I'd have to pay sales tax on it because the store I was picking it up from was in a different state than the one it was supposed to be delivered to. The store manager was standing right there and wouldn't do anything to offset the additional sales tax cost (never mind wasting a whole day to waiting for delivery and chasing down the status of my order since Best Buy never bothered to contact me to tell me what was going on). So I just cancelled my order, Best Buy did a terrible job overall with this order. I will never be shopping with them again. I highly suggest not doing business with Best Buy based on my latest catastrophic...
Read moreI was shocked at how bad my experience was. I went in for a reasonably priced wireless printer that doesn't need WiFi to work (I have no working router at present). The rep was very bubbly and friendly and told me for certain the printer I ended up purchasing didn't need WiFi. He was wrong. He also sold me ink cartridges I didn't need. As well, he said I didn't need a credit check to reapply/reactivate my Best Buy credit card. He lied or has no idea what a credit check means. After hours of frustration trying to figure out how to use this printer at home, I took it back and asked the young gal at customer service to help me figure out how this works. I asked again if they were sure it didn't require WiFi. She very confidently said, "yes". I tried explaining everything I'd already done to do to get it to work, but she kept interrupting me with suggestions of doing these same things that I was trying to tell her I'd already tried. I actually had to ask her not to interrupt and to let me speak. She seemed to think I was rude for doing that. How ironic! She then appeared unmotivated in helping me further and kept going in the back and coming back out with little info to help correct the situation. It was finally determined that the printer probably does require WiFi to work. She just shrugged and had no further answers. And, unbelievably, she then implied it was my fault for not having WiFi; this after being told twice by 2 reps that it wasn't necessary. I found the customer service person apathetic, rude, and useless. And both she and the other rep seem to have no clue with regard to the products they sell. I was refunded for the printer and unneeded ink and promptly left. I will not be going back until they smarten up and learn the basics of customer...
