Whataburger — Restaurant in San Antonio

Just to be clear it is What-a-burger. Not a water burger, or some other mispronunciation, and believe me I have heard many people say it like that, and much worse. One would think that it would be easy to remember, because it is an accurate assessment of the quality, and consistency you'll find there. I have been to many fast food establishments in all my years and there has always been something exceptional about this place. Like I said before every time I have eaten there my experience has been consistent, where I'm left feeling full (sometimes a little too full) and satisfied. It is not a rare thing that after eating there I or someone would leave uttering the words "oh man, what a burger." Also please don't be mistaken, when I say fast food, I am certainly not trying to lump them in with less appealing fast food places that I try to avoid. They are in no way similar to let's say a Wendy's or a McDonald's where you usually get the bare minimum of service and poorest quality food with little to no nutritional value. Hell just about the only thing consistent about them is their inconsistency, but not the case What-a-burger. Their beef tastes like real beef, fries like real fries, which makes the perfect combo with a patty melt. Which, I just say, is my go to burger there. Add a side of golden fried onion rings or delicious french fries with a helping of their signature Ketchup (fancy Ketchup) to finish it off. Or even one of their awesome what-a-burger shakes to wash it down, and I'm good to go. I also failed to mention that I'm not a huge fan of red meat. I'm more of a part-time carnivore, and very rarely do I order onion rings What-a-burger is the exception for the simple fact they make good food, and I have no doubt that is why they have been around forever. Oh and one last thing, their fish sandwich is the bomb. Yes, I know how sketchy and Russian roulette-y getting a fish sandwich at other less trustworthy places can be, but once again they excel in making a tasty and fresh fish sandwich and it's not square either. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU!

So I walk in today to get a B.O B. And a sausage biscuit, easy right? I see a long line in the drive thru and no line inside, so I decide to go in to beat the line. HUGE mistake.

As soon as I walk in there is no one at the counter so I walk up to the register. The lady behind the counter tell me to hold on and I say OK, so she proceeds to make coffee. By this time, an different employee walks around the counter and the cashier proceeds to assist the employee as if I wasn't there. In all this one transaction took longer than if I had gone through the drive thru.

Finally the cashier takes my order

Me: 1 B.O.B. and one Biscuit. Cashier: The meal? Me: No just the sandwiches only. Cashier: (proceeds to charge 01 meal and one sandwich)

I get told $10 70 and hand my card over. While she is ringing it up I'm thinking that is a LOT of taxes, when she hands me the receipt I see why. She charged me for a meal.

When the manager comes she tells me she will refund my order and in 2 to 3 days I will get my refund. Then she want to charge me an additional cost for a B.O.B. essentially asking we to pay $15 at that moment for something that should have cost me $7.

I was starving after working all night and all I had on my card was about $11 so I couldn't even afford to pay to get a refund.

I ended up just walking out of there with my order the way I ordered it and the company kept the change. Great job Whataburger, you stuck up another customer for more change.

The manager kept trying to tell me, "next time you come in..." Are you kidding me? YOU ROBBED ME! I am never...

Before reading this please know that I am not one to leave negative reviews about a place, but I think it's finally time people heard a real review from someone who has given this location too many chances. I've been to a lot of Whataburger's in my life. This one has to be the most inconsistent, and worst location I've been too. I live on this side of town and I will literally drive farther just to not go to this location. Please allow me to give you all a couple of reasons why I will no longer be coming to this location. -The Sweet tea is either overly sweet or overly strong. -The employees are nice, but sometimes you get a really rude employee and it just your meal. Which I know can happen anywhere but I'm just saying that it happens here. -The fries are almost all the time nasty, cold, and old. I've had a few experiences where the fries were hot and fresh and that was awesome, but it's only happened a few times. -Lastly, the dining room is sometimes dirty, the tables are not wiped down sometimes. I know they can get busy, but there's no excuse when you're not busy to get out there and clean the dining room. In conclusion I don't think I will be returning to this location, I've gave them too many chances and they have not delivered. I'm sorry to the people who are really trying at this location. I truly wish this location is fixed in the future. I have so many memories there and it would be horrible to not be able to go back. God bless you all! I pray this finds the...
