We were so excited to take my 2-year-old daughter to get her first haircut and left disappointed. I booked the first haircut package with Nancy because she was the most rated and most highly rated on their website and expected good things. Instead, when we showed up, she didn’t greet us or so much as acknowledge my girl. We tried preparing our baby as much as we could before her appointment, but sometimes toddlers are gonna toddler, so she started crying and didn’t want to be put in the seat. At this point, her dad and I took a few minutes to calm her but this was apparently taking too long for our stylist. Nancy asked if she had ever gotten a haircut (which should have been asked in the first place, and should have been noted because I booked the first haircut package..), then insisted that we needed to reschedule because they had people waiting for their appointments. We should have walked out then, but I wanted to salvage our appointment and it looked like our kid was going to change her mind. Plus, my daughter REALLY needed a haircut; I didn’t just book the appointment for funsies. My daughter ended up sitting in the chair after all and Nancy still shook her head and insisted we needed to reschedule. I pointed out that my daughter was sitting, and she still shook her head, claiming that too much time had passed and they wouldn’t have enough time to give me the whole package, whatever that meant. I said that we didn’t need the package and just wanted the haircut and she didn’t acknowledge me—just started to prep my daughter to get her haircut. After this, my daughter was so content and happy during her haircut and I wish I could have focused on her joy and the experience of her getting her beautiful hair cut for the first time, and instead I was reeling in disbelief over a so-called professional’s demeanor.
I understand that businesses need to stay on schedule, but when you have a classic case of toddler chaos happening in a ✨kids’✨ hair salon, sympathy would have gone a long way into converting us into repeat customers. We won’t be returning and will do our best to discourage other parents with small children...
Read moreTh reason I am giving them a 2 star review is because I am upset that we didn’t get what we paid for.
First off I want to say tht the first time we made an appointment with them, they canceled us one day prior to the appointment. They didn’t even offer to at least change the person who the appoint was with. (It was not our fault it was on them, they canceled on us).
Now this second opportunity we gave sharkys we thought it would be a good one. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our appointment and after checking in a lady, Maria, came to the front. She didn’t even know why she was given a camera 📷 by another employee to take pictures of my son. (This was my son’s very first hair cut and we wanted the special package that included hair cut, certificate, lock, and before and after picture.) I guess at this moment I should have known that she was probably new and didn’t know what she was going to do, but I trusted Sharkys to provide us a person that was going to make our first time experience special.
Every time I see my child’s hair I am reminded of how we did not get what we paid for.
We showed her a picture of how we wanted my son’s hair, so she could have a guide of what we wanted. Nope! She did whatever she wanted and cut my baby’s hair way too short and really uneven. On my baby’s left side of his head he has flat line where Maria cut him with the clippers. ——- she was rushing my baby’s haircut so badly it looks like a cow chewed him up.
Overall I don’t think she knew what she was doing and to see her try to talk her way out of the mess she did to my baby’s first hair cut 💇 makes me really upset. I do not recommend her at all.
Idk if all employees are the same which is why I am not talking about sharkys as a whole, but the experiences we have had with them are not really...
Read moreWe had a 2pm appointment with my 2year old son. We arrived early my son played for a little bit. The original stylist was running late so Susan tried to accommodate us by taking over the appointment. Well first although it was appreciated that she tried to help us. She was in no way kind to my son. She was forceful and scolded him threatening to take his candy away if he didn’t get his haircut. Now half of her face was swollen so I’m sure she wasn’t feeling well. We decided he was over the haircut and didn’t want to sit in any chair. So I thanked Susan for all efforts and as we were leaving my 2 year old son wanted some Dino puppets. Susan than put her leg to block prevent my son from grabbing them from a toy tower they were on display(they are for sale and easily attainable for anyone who would like to purchase them) so she puts her leg to block him. My two year old emphasis on the 2 year old starts to cry because he was playing with them and wanted them. She scold him and says No because you didn’t get your haircut. I asked her to mover her leg and proceeded to tell her it was ok. She then had the audacity to tell me he was never going to learn! From what I understand your a stylist who caters to children!! I was so upset with this woman. But i held it together for my child. Everyone came back from their lunch all sitting around. This lady was all angry and not one employee apologized for that behavior. I suppose I shouldn’t expect that but WOW! Do better Sharkeys employees in treating children...
