ALDI — Local services in San Bernardino

I'm giving the store only one star because of a very rude cashier. I found everything that I meeded from the weekly flyer. However the cashier was so rude I decided to do this review, because he really needs to be retrained, or taken off the register and put in stocking or something. The cashier's name on my receipt is Edgar.

Edgar was rude. He did not want to pack the groceries in the bags and proceeded to bang and slam items as if he really either did not like the customers, or his job. I found it hard to distinguish which one.

A senior citizen black disabled lady with an easily identified service dog was behind me in line and she had the dog in one hand and was trying to manoeuvre a walker in the other with her groceries in a box.

I heard the lady ask another worker in the store as she was shopping if she could use the boxes on her waller to hold the groceries and the clerk said yes, because apparently the cart that the disabled ride in had been stolen.

Edgar glared at her when she proceeded to put the boxes on the conveyer belt and told her very rudely and loud that she had to take the groceries out of the box. I don't know if she planned to take the groceries out of the boxes, or not. However, she was clearly struggling with her purchases and I felt he could have asked her in a nicer way, not embarrass her by being loud and rude.

All of the other employees were professional...

Today September 24, 2022 I have a very horrible experience with cashier Yolanda, I pick a reusable bag of $0.99 cents but then I change my mine and pick the one of $1.99 because is more big to my surprise she said if you pick the smaller one you have to take that but she was very mean and I say I didn’t use it and the tag is there I want a bigger one and she say again please do not do that and she said more…. Is very sad that someone act like that just because I change my mind. What is the problem with that. I know one costumer is nothing but today is my last day here my store and I love it. But can you imagine being a Mother and a wife to go shopping and have to see Yolandas face there she is a small lady but with the worse attitude I ever see in my life. I have to find another store to shop. And yes there are very mean people but why act like that, very sad. At the end because she was very angry I said ok I’ll take the smallest two bags and I said to the other boy cashier what happened and he didn’t say nothing he ignored everything. I was so sad almost cry my self but I have to put a good face to my kids when I get home. Life is difficult why make it more difficult for another human being be good person Yolanda you always have a very angry and rude face in 5 years going here I always see you very angry. So sad of you...

Maybe I'm just old school, but paying to use a cart is ridiculous. I get it, it helps people to be responsible and bring the carts back, but for a first impression it left me feeling slightly peeved. Also, bring your reuseable bags because you'll be charged per plastic bag as well... Okay, rant /end, onto the review.

When we came in the place was clean and was very orderly. There were several other people in the store and just one cashier. We were hoping to "get in and get out," but with a $40 min to spend for a coupon, it was actually harder than we expected because the items were very cheap. However, we didn't recognize any of the brands and there was almost no selection of different types of items. An example was there was just two different types of spaghetti and one type of apple juice. So because they were unfamiliar to us, we didn't buy them. I guess this place can appeal to people willing to try new brands or willing to sacrifice while...
