SMG takes gymnastics seriously. The coaches are really detailed and they respect the sport. Daughter has progressed faster under their guidance than previous gym. Most importantly, they will be honest with parents, let you know strengths and weaknesses and help your child thru the tough mental blocks and physical skills. My wife was a gymnast and coach and she speaks their language. She still has friends in the industry. If you want to send your child to a gym where the goal is to babysit and jump into a foam pit SMG is not it. Awesome location to have your kid's birthday party. We recently had our kid's birthday celebration at San Mateo Gym and all the kids (+ parents) had an amazing time. Coaches Mina and Emily did a fantastic job entertaining and engaging with the kiddos with a million different activities, including the well-loved foam pit and trampoline. Having a separate place upstairs for food/party stuff worked great as it also provided a nice viewing area. Planning and working out logistics ahead of time was super easy and the coaches were very easy to work with.
