I went there yesterday to the San Diego location with my mom, maid of honor, and my bridesmaids for my first dress hunt stop. We arrived 10 minutes early like stated in the email but the address provided was a locked community of condos. No sign posted for the dress shop and no information other than the address stated in the email. I called the number on the email and asked if we were in the wrong place and they said no they rent out a portion to use as a bridal shop and they would send someone down to get us. We waited outside for someone to come for around 15 minutes then we decided to call the number again. They stated someone would come shortly. We waited again for a few minutes then used the call box to see if we could find Cocomelody in the listing. Once we found them we called stating we were still standing upside in the cold and if someone could let us in. They buzzed us in and asked us to wait in the lobby. At this point I was already eating into my 10am appointment slot. About 10 minutes later someone came down to get us and we walked up to the shop location inside the condo building. The shop was beautiful but the customer service wasnât very inviting. They werenât prepared, and didnât introduce themselves. I told them my budget was 1k and asked to stay within the budget. I knew they had plenty of dresses within my price because I did some online browsing before I made the appointment. They didnât show us where any of the dresses were the dresses within my budget were to look at while they were getting my fitting room ready. When they were finally ready I tried on my first dress. I was able to try on 4 dresses during my appointment, but during that time I felt pressured to have to go above my budget and that my options were very limited because my budget was low. When I came back in, after the 4th dress, I asked to try on my top two favorites to compare them. They said I didnât have any time because it was now 5 minutes till 11am and they had another client coming in. They said that because âIâ was late I wouldnât actually get the full hour. I told them I was not late and we were here early but we couldnât get in and nobody would come and get us after we called multiple times. She then battled back and fourth with me while I was in still in the fitting room trying to get changed. She ended up saying ok you can have an extra 10 minutes but I wouldnât be able to try on my top two again to compare. I had to pick one. At that point I was mad and I just slapped on a dress and walked out to my friends and family. They told me I could make a second appointment and drive out again to try on my top two. I will not be getting a dress from this place. I left the shop so irritated and mad and it left me feeling a little defeated. I will not be returning...
Read moreI honestly wouldn't recommend buying your dress here but if you do go here, don't expect a boutique experience.
I had high hopes given the number of good reviews they received but my experience was not great. First off, the sales associate was dressed in athletic gear which I thought was different since I expected them to be dressed professionally, but not a big deal. When we got to the suite it didn't have a functioning bathroom, so you had to go to a different part of the building. Not a huge deal just annoying when you're in and out of dresses. Also, given it is a bridal boutique I would at least expect them to have water or something which they didn't, but again, not a huge deal. Unfortunately, the dress is where I had the most issues.
The dress that came in was different from the one I ordered and tried on at both the San Diego and L.A. locations. It had an ugly glitter layer sewn into the bodice and ran throughout the entirety of the train. Additionally, when I took the dress to alterations, they said it would cost more than the cost of the dress itself to make it fit properly. While I realize that it is my body shape it would have been nice if the sales associate told me the dress didn't fit properly as I would have gone with a different dress altogether. Also, the additional layer of glitter that wasn't on any of the samples I tried on cost even more to get removed. Lastly, even though the dress I ordered had a long train and ton of material it came in a small box all scrunched up. Given the amount of money I spent on the dress I would at least expect it to be the same dress that I ordered and maybe be shipped with more care. In hindsight, I should've taken my...
Read moreSo, as a bride who has been doing thorough research of different wedding dress stores to book my bridal fitting with, the Cocomelody team and my stylist, Lexi were a pleasure to work with! They made the process quick, seamless, and love that scheduling the wedding dress fitting was private and personal in their studio in Little Italy in San Diego to allow you to bring whomever in your bridal party or family or friends to come with you to take photos and videos of the dresses you have on. Lexi asked all the questions I needed to be asked to secure the dream dress I am looking for! How the dress fits, alterations, and any adjustments needed, matters and they are partnered with a local tailor to do any customizations needed. Also, if not sure which dress yet, they are very flexible and allow you to book a follow up appointment if needed or want to try on any other styles in different colors like black, blue, white, ivory/champagne, etc. They will also work with you on your budget you have dedicated. Much more affordable ranges than others, but also very high end dresses as well! They also have bridesmaid dresses as well for your bridal party to try on! I highly recommend if you're interested in having your own dedicated bridal dress fitting and love lace detailing or simple satin dresses too, they have any style you can imagine that were all comfortable to wear! Comfort matters ladies! Thank you again so much Lexi for your input and help to take away all my stress in finding my dream dress for my...
