Unpleasant Experience with the Owner Betsy:

I recently had the unfortunate experience of attending a Salt Pilates studio owned by Betsy Blumenfeld who left me deeply dissatisfied. As a busy single mother and business owner with limited time and energy, I believe it's essential to share my experience with others. Even though it was far from positive, I hope that it can help future clients make an informed decision.

From the moment I encountered Betsy outside the studio, then walked through the door, I felt an unwelcome and chilly atmosphere. The owner, Betsy, who is the face of the studio, displayed a consistently rude, aggressive, and unwelcoming demeanor that persisted throughout my time there. Her attitude was consistently condescending, and it was clear she held herself in a very questionable high regard. It appeared that she was more concerned on asserting her authority.

What struck me most was the sense of entitlement and power-tripping that permeated her interactions. During my first conversation with Betsy about the class/studio procedures for newcomers like myself, I had a rather distasteful encounter. As I was about to pose a question, she abruptly interrupted me, stating in a curt manner, “I am not finished speaking!”. I normally would not allow anybody to speak to me this way, but this caught me completely off guard and left me feeling taken aback. I had no inclination to encounter her lack of maturity and, in the process, undermine my own principles. With her dismissive attitude and lack of interest in addressing me I found it difficult to communicate with her about any concerns or questions I had.

She seemed to enjoy making clients feel inferior and small, which is entirely against the welcoming and supportive atmosphere one would expect in a fitness studio. Pilates is about self-improvement, not about belittlement, and the owner failed to grasp this fundamental principle.

Furthermore, her arrogance was palpable. She made no effort to connect with clients on a personal level. It seemed as though she dreaded being there, was consistently on her phone, and carried an uninviting demeanor. Her unwillingness to engage in open communication left me feeling disheartened and ignored, which is the last thing you want from someone in a service industry.

In conclusion, my experience at this Pilates studio was marred by Betsy’s rude, power-tripping, entitled, and unwelcoming behavior. I would advise potential clients to carefully consider their options before committing to this studio, as there are many other places that prioritize creating a positive and supportive environment for their patrons.

I have the capacity to leave a review of this studio and my interaction with Betsy on a prominent social platform, which could potentially generate substantial negative attention and affect the Salt Pilates operations. I sincerely hope that the owner takes this feedback to heart, works on her humility and improving her approach towards clients. Pilates is meant to be an uplifting and invigorating experience, and it's a shame that this particular studio falls short in delivering...

SALT! Oh my happy place! I can’t say enough great things about this studio! I found myself at SALT after feeling burnt out and overwhelmed after all the feels that come with starting a new business.

Living in San Diego you have a lot of options with different ways to move your body. So I signed up for class pass in hopes to find a community that felt like home.

Let me tell you… SALT was just that and more! SALT is a VIBEEE! From the professional passionate expert instructors, to the loud awesome genre of music, to the blue lights and let’s not forget the infrared HEAT for the icing on the cake! 👌🏽

I fell in LOVE! The energy the instructors bring Into the room while teaching a group Pilates class is everythinggg! Every class is such a fun experience!

The twist of 🍋‍🟩 that SALT created within a Pilates studio is unmatched! I wanted more! So I signed up for the teacher training and became an instructor myself and I regret nothing!

Besty, her team and teachers are one of a kind! They are the true meaning of authenticity, love, passion and professionalism in all that they do and believe in. I will forever be grateful for this amazing community of woman and for the opportunity to play and be a part of it!

My trucking company delivered to this location today and it was a nightmare. Im not sure of the owners name, I believe its Elizabeth, but in a previous review they named the owner as Betsy not sure if this was her. She placed a big order and expected my driver to hand deliver each box, mind you it was 5 pallets of boxes, up to her studio. When this load was booked all we we were expected to do was a curbside delivery. She was extremely irate, disrespectful and just plain rude to my driver.
