I rarely give a negative review, but this Claim Jumper deserves it. For some background, I am a Hispanic man who was dressed in a Pro Club shirt and joggers that day. Never before have I felt that people were judging me based on what I was wearing. I was polite, as I always am. First, I am thankful for the kitchen staff for cooking my food as I ordered it and the host who was working that day. It took 10 minutes for the server to come and ask me what I wanted to drink. I ordered a custom drink. When ordering, I wanted the ribeye combo plate, and I wanted to add the grilled shrimp and salmon as well. It was my birthday, so I said, "Why not?" Every time I order something, there was a condescending voice like, "Can you afford it?". Of course I can. If I couldn't, I wouldn't be ordering it. Please never judge someone by how they look. The food was brought by a runner, not even by the server. I was well into my steak before the server asked how everything was. When I was a server, I would do the two-bite check-in. It was not busy; there was an EDM festival going on, so it was pretty slow in the restaurant. I asked for their chocolate cake, and the server asked if I wanted it to go. I'm sorry, I may be overthinking it, but it felt like he was done with me. I wanted to enjoy it there. Another 10 to 15 minutes passed by, and still no cake. I was already annoyed, so I got up to go pay at the register. The host said she couldn't pull up the ticket. So I asked for the manager. In no way was I mad at her; she along with the runner, provided the best interactions of this visit. I explained that I wanted to deal with the manager as I felt I wasn't treated with respect. The manager never showed up, so I dealt with the server again. I wrote "no tip" on the receipt, yet I was still charged a tip. I'm not going to contest the charge because I am not broke, but it was the principle of not being treated correctly as a guest. I left a review on the website and never even received an apology from the owner or general manager. Tips are earned, not given. I won't tip if you make me feel less than.

Have I had worse? Yes. But, Claim Jumper, back in the 1990's, used to be soooo good! It was a great place to go eat comfort food, with huge portions. I always had my heart set on trying their motherload cake as well. I finally had a chance to go back, and I wanted pork chops. No longer on the menu. I then ordered tri tips steak, which was sliced already. The steak was very tough!!! I could not finish it, because it was not good, just salty leather. I ordered mac n cheese as a side dish. Tasted like instant mac and cheese from the grocery store. Anyway, I was thinking, ok something has to taste good...right? So I finally ordered my first slice of the motherload cake. I was so excited to finally taste this chocolaty moist decadent huge slice of heaven. I put my fork in, to get a bite and it crumbled. I managed to picked some up, and it was dry as dirt. The frosting was very light almost as light as whipped cream. The flavor very disappointing! I took two bites, and I was done. I was ready to leave this place, and never come back. Someone ruined Claim Jumper! Fortunately HB convinced me to complain about it and have it removed from my bill, which I did. My server was a trainee, and she was helpful. But the man who was training her offered no apology and sympathy, he was just business as usual I guess. I am thinking Claim Jumper might not be around at the end of the next ten years, and I hate that. I have not tried others, but I heard many have closed down. I wonder why?

This is one of those times where I wish I would have read the reviews first. I think it was also a sign that this wasn't going to be a great place to eat when half the outdoor tables still had food and drinks left over from the previous diners and the menus we were given had food all over them. It took from the time seating down, 20 minutes just to get drinks, after that the waitress brought us our silverware and it still had food left on it from the previous people that used them, picture down below. Thinking that maybe this was just a mistake we asked them to replace the silverware and when it came back it was still dirty and greasy. When the food arrived, the bowls and plates that our meal was on, was well you guessed it dirty and greasy with food left over from the last person that used them. At this point I was grossed out and just couldn't eat there anymore. The reason for the two stars is because after speaking with a manager he comped our meals but in reality this just shouldn't happen at all and it shows how poorly run this restaurant is. Will not be returning in the future because this place just doesn't have proper sanitation standards in place. *For the manager that reads this, please train your staff to not complain about other customers while we are waiting in the front it just shows the lack of customer service.

My visit started out badly, they said they ran out of certain ingredients for a drink called a Mexican candy. The server brought me a a Mexican candy with salt around the rim. He said just try it see if you like it. I told HIM if I wanted a MARGARITA I would have ordered one. I really don't drink I am just starting to live my life for ME. I am learning to LIVE AND THRIVE AND PLAY WITH HUMAN'S WHO KEEP BETRAYING AND BULLYING ME AND MAKING ME SUFFER ALL OF MY LIFE. I am also learning to LIVE for MYSELF AND NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT ANYTHING FROM MY PAST OR FEEL GUILTY ABOUT DOING THINGS FOR MYSELF. I am a very special selfless woman who has Sacrificed Everything For My Family's, Friends, and even Strangers All Of My Life. I Have Made Mistakes Just Like Everyone else On God's Green Earth/Village. HOWEVER I always Asked For Forgiveness Honestly And With All Of My Heart, Body, Mind, And Soul. I Learned from my Mistakes and I Tried Very Hard Not To Repeat Them. The Mistakes That I Kept On Making Was GIVING OF MYSELF AND NOT RECEIVING THE SAME LOVE, RESPECT, KINDNESS, HAPPINESS, AND TRUST THAT I GAVE TO EVERYONE ELSE IN MY LIFE'S JOURNEY'S. After I told the server that I did not want the drink and that I would like to order some food with in this week, he told me a new server would be taking over. Ely Was My New Server I told him that this was my First Time Coming To The Restaurant. After I Told Him That He Did Everything Within His POWER TO MAKE ME FEEL WELCOMED AND HE MADE MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THAT RESTAURANT A GREAT ONE. I EVEN GOT OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE AND SPOKE WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT. I Tried New Foods I Spoke With HUMAN'S WHO WERE RESPECTFUL AND NICE TO ME AND ONE FAMILY BOUGHT ME A DRINK. After I Paid For My Food I Gave Mr. Ely A Big Tip For His Service And I Spoke With Him And I Told Him A Little About My Life's Journey's. I Told Him That He Did Everything To Make My Visit To The Restaurant A Beautiful One. I Had A Wonderful Day For A Change And I Was Not DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY ANYONE FOR A CHANGE. I Told Mr. Ely About My Experience with Some Of The OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE INVOLVED IN MY TORMENTING RIGHT NOW. He Listened And Gave Me Some Great Advice And Much Needed Encouragement. I Left The Restaurant And I Got An Uber Home The Ride Was Very Pleasant. Mr. James Drove Me Home He Told Me He Was Going My Way And He Excepted The Fare. I Made It Home Very Late But I Am Very Happy To See That There Are Still Some Good HUMAN'S WHO ARE REALLY NICE ON THIS PLANET/VILLAGE CALLED EARTH MAMA GIA MOTHER NATURE OUR FIRST MOTHER. I Am Very Thankful To My Family In HEAVEN AND THE UNIVERSE FOR KEEPING ME SAFE, HEALTHY, AND HAPPY AS ALWAYS AND GETTING ME HOME SAFE AND IN ONE PIECE๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸฆŠโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฎ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพโ˜๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿคด๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿคด๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฆถ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒŒ๐ŸŽ‘๐ŸŒ•๐Ÿชฏ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿค—๐Ÿซกโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ

I came here with a coworker to enjoy a dinner before going to our room and we ordered food to go but since we had to wait to get the food we decided to just do a sit down dinner instead. The hostess show us to our seats and gave us waters. Everything seemed fine until we actual received our food. I ordered a burger and the burger was super greasy the condiments that were listed that was suppose to be on the burger wasn't on the burger and it lacked flavor. My coworker order the salmon and also a baked potato with asparagus wand stated her food was also not good very bland and her salmon was under cooked and she only ate the baked potato because she was hungry. We asked the hostess if she could take the food back and she said yes with no hesitation and also got the manager for us. This is when the real issues begin. Once my coworker told the manager the issues with her food the manager asked if she wanted anything else on the menu and she stated no at this point she was over it. The manager then said sorry and walked away. We waited for 5 minutes seeing if she would come back to state she was giving her, her money back and she didn't. So at that point I decided to walk to the back to ask the manager to come back because she never offered a solution. The manager then says she's coming back just give her a second. So once she got back to the table she just stood there starring at us. My coworker then asked so how are we fixing the problem. The manager stated I was getting your receipt so that I could refund you half of your money back. She tells us to follow her over to the kiosk and we do but we asked why is she only being refunded half and all she ate was the baked potato. She told us that her cook told her that the salmon wasn't undercooked. At that point I was very confused because if someone tells you their food was undercooked and bland how can you tell them that's not so. The manager got an attitude with her and said well I'll just give you a full refund and that's all. She had an attitude that was horrible, and all we asked was why there was a half refund instead of a full refund. You would think the refund was coming straight from her pocket. She was very dismissive and rude. I would not come back here and until they get a better manager or cooks there's no reason...
