I have found this service after multiple and unsuccessful attempts to get grocery delivered from my local supermarkets as well as other online providers. The problem was after you fill your shopping cart the delivery windows were not available. By the time you get your turn, many of the items in your cart become unavailable. Of courseI I understand with pandemic situation in the country many people, older folks especially prefer to get grocery delivered. It turned out most grocery stores were not prepared for this increased demand. And than I found Mercato, and it is a blessing! I was able to choose a local store within a few miles from my home. They have a great selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and everything else I need. And the prices were reasonable too. I did not believe this when they offered delivery SAME DAY! They have option of free unlimited delivery, but because of a short distance I decided to pay $7.49 for each delivery instead of signing with monthly charge. So far I got three deliveries from Fresh Food Market on Devon Ave. in Chicago. My items were nicely packed and delivered within hours to my door. Mercato takes care of payment with credit card with option to add tip for the driver, so you do not need to handle cash. So I am very happy with Mercato service and recommend it highly...
Read more• I placed a Thanksgiving catering order from The Tin Building via online site Mercato for pick up on Thursday, November 28th between 12 – 1pm • I arrived for pick up and was given 5 sealed boxes. • I arrived home and the main course (turkey) was missing from the order, and I was given only side dishes (mashed potatoes, mushrooms, etc.). • I called and emailed the restaurant and Mercato at approximately 1:53pm on Thursday, November 28th. • The manager, Luis Diaz, emailed called me and texted me and said he would have a turkey immediately delivered. Sofia Posada Blancafort, Operations Manager, at Mercato had a single task to coordinate delivery of the turkey and she couldn’t deliver. The turkey arrived almost 4 hours late. • The turkey arrived at 5:30pm, after our guests have left. • On Friday, November 29th, the restaurant agreed to refund 50% of the order or $447.63. • December 2nd, I receive a refund from Mercato for $285.90. • This still leaves a refund of $161.73 remaining. • I keep receiving promises of the additional refund, but nothing has been credited. • Sofia Posada Blancafort asked me not to call her cell phone and continued to give me the run around. I placed Order #XXYYZZ and I just received what you are calling a completed delivery. There was a total of nineteen (19) items from three (3) stores for a total of $65.21 charged to my credit card. The delivery person arrived, after once again, not being able to follow directions to get into my building and handed me the tiniest bag from Millers Twist (which I also have an issue with and I will discuss in a second) of which it contained 2 items. I asked where the other 17 items were and he said they were not there and this was all that he was handed. He said he informed Mercato about this but I am not sure that means. I knew something was off as I never received any notification that the order was complete, but figured that maybe you had it all under control. Boy was I wrong.
After 4 attempted calls and over 5 emails I still have get to receive a call or email from them accepting their inadequacies and how they will resolve this.
In fact, the only call I received was from a woman miles from my house informing me that she had my delivery. She also had my address, phone number, name and billing information. How’s that for...
