Kay’s Salon Studio — Local services in San Diego

To address the absolutely ridiculous response I also have a pictures of my hair from start to finish this woman is delusional. I have consulted other salon owners and stylists who have said they have never seen such awful work in their industry. You said this was a shade darker. It is a completely different color palette from the provided pictures. Also she took pictures of my hair without out my promission and while she thought she was hiding behind me when I couldn’t see. Unreal I know! I did not agree to be muddy auburn brown, I ask for a very light copper and expressed many times I do not want to go dark. Between being overcharged, transportation and costs to fix her mistakes I will unfortunately have to let small claims court handle it. As this woman will never do the right thing and own her professional mistakes that even others on her industry see. It’s sad that this low amount of integrity still exists.

Worst colour service ever Nothing even close to what I asked for, refused to admit her mistake.

I’m literally crying because it’s so far off from the pictures I provided and what I asked for. I’m so incredibly upset with how my hair looks.

She first refused to fix it or accept she did anything wrong. She then accused me of not wanting to pay, then she had the audacity to charge me full price after she tryed and could not fix it.

The fact that she charged me full price for a botched job that was her mistake is disgusting! I don’t even know how to fix my hair at all now, all I know is I’m going home crying, but at least you took all that money I hope you feel good about yourself. No box due was ever added to my hair at all…just wow you would try and lie to cover your mistake, that’s your work that dark dye you did is why I was crying all night.

My wife recently went to this salon for a hair appointment with Kay. , The experience was upsetting to say the least. She came home in tears, and I couldn’t believe how bad her hair looked,bnothing like what she’d showed me earlier in a possible look. The color was completely off, patchy, and just didn’t suit her at all. She had shown the stylist photos...

On top of that, her face was stained with dye, and she felt the stylist was rushed and distracted the whole time, even checking her phone during the appointment. She’d requested a blowout, but her hair wasn’t even styled.

When my wife reached out to express her concerns, she got a dismissive and defensive response instead of any accountability or apology. Now she’s spending more money and time with another stylist to fix this.

Seeing how upset my wife was and how poorly this was handled, I wouldn’t recommend this salon or Kay to anyone unless you want...

I’ve come to Kay twice for my haircut and left satisfied both times! The second time I came, I wanted to bleach half of my hair and she made the whole process smooth and painless. My hair comes out the way I want and Kay is always very efficient. I also appreciate her friendly and welcoming presence. The second time I came, Kay even offered to cut my husband’s hair while I was waiting for my hair to bleach - which was very sweet of her because he needed one and we did not let her know in advance. My husband also loves his haircut. She was also super open to our questions about hair care and we were able to buy some her highly recommended products from her.
