I'm already familiar with the Dubai Chocolate bars at Mission Heights Chocolates. However, I wasn't aware of the booming popularity until I went to a local Gelson's and saw they were selling them as well. Since my first exposure over at Mission Heights; I mean this when I say I was not exaggerating, I found a new love for chocolate.
The craft put into making these delectable bars beats other competitors. I enjoyed the ease of breaking corners off from the bar, the balance between the chocolate and pistachio, my messy face as I devoured whatever was left over, and the sadness I felt from not savoring each bite.
Now, my disappointment after trying the now "discounted" Dubai Bars at Gelson's, Ooof. There was such an overload of chocolate in comparison to the pistachio paste that they used. The chocolate was very bland and chalky, and the packaging and price are absolutely poor.

Read moreI can go on and on about how much I love Mission Heights Chocolate but simply put, this is the best chocolate in San Diego. They only sell high quality, fair trade chocolate made in house and it shows in the taste. Mission Heights Dubai Bar is the best there available full stop. No one else makes their pistachio filling from scratch like they do and after trying it, you'll never want one from anywhere else. The only thing better than their products are Dan and Camille themselves. They and the rest of their staff are just gems of people. Extremely kind, warm, and welcoming. Like I said, I could go on and on heaping compliments about Mission Heights Chocolate but the best thing I can say is that it's...
