Mixed Wings Experience at Buffalo Wild Wings in San Diego My recent birthday visit to the Buffalo Wild Wings in San Diego was a bit of a rollercoaster, ultimately leaving me with mixed feelings despite some initial positives. On the bright side, I have to commend our server, Alexia. She was truly exceptional. From the moment I sat down, she was incredibly attentive, kind, and made sure I had everything I needed. She happily accommodated my request to have the Lakers game put on the large screen on the exterior wall, which I really appreciated as I was one of the first customers in the dining room. Additionally, the traditional wings I received courtesy of a birthday email were absolutely delicious – perfectly crispy and flavorful, exactly what I was craving. However, the positive experience took a significant downturn midway through the first quarter of the Lakers game. Without any warning or explanation, the channel on the screen Alexia had so kindly set for me was abruptly switched to the Padres game, which was in the 5th inning at the time. While I understand that the Padres are the local team, I was surprised by this change, especially considering the dining room was still quite empty and no one near that particular screen appeared to be watching the baseball game. When I inquired about this with the manager, Will, I was met with a disappointing lack of professionalism. His curt response, "That TV will be the Padres game," offered no room for discussion. He stated the reason was due to the sound needing to be on the Padres game. While I understand the logic of prioritizing the local team's sound, there were at least four other large screens throughout the restaurant showing the Padres game with the sound. I even mentioned that the sound wasn't a priority for me, but my concerns seemed to fall on deaf ears. Having worked as a bartender at Buffalo Wild Wings for six years myself, I recall the capability to have multiple games on the main screens and choose which audio to play, making this situation even more perplexing. Will's unwillingness to listen to my perspective and his overall demeanor were frankly quite off-putting. The negative experience continued when I tried to redeem my complimentary birthday wings. My phone number wasn't immediately updating in the Buffalo Wild Wings app. Instead of trying to find a solution with empathy, Will sat down uninvited in my booth and bluntly stated that he would not take the reward off my bill if their system hadn't refreshed my account. This felt incredibly dismissive, especially since I could show him the birthday email and my account clearly indicating the reward. It genuinely felt like he had already formed a negative opinion of me as a customer. Thankfully, my phone number eventually appeared in their system, and the reward was applied, but Will's handling of the situation left a sour taste in my mouth. Overall, my visit to this San Diego Buffalo Wild Wings was a mixed bag. Alexia's fantastic service and the delicious wings were definite highlights. However, the unprofessional and dismissive attitude of the manager, Will, and the frustrating situation with the TV and birthday reward significantly detracted from the experience. While I appreciate the complimentary wings, the poor management interaction makes me hesitant to return to this particular location...
Read moreI recently visited Buffalo Wild Wings with high hopes for a great dining experience, but unfortunately, my expectations were shattered. The amount of time I had to wait for service was absolutely ridiculous, and the overall level of service I received was far below what I would consider acceptable.
First and foremost, the wait time at Buffalo Wild Wings was mind-bogglingly long. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but this was on a whole new level. I had to wait for what felt like an eternity just to be seated, and once I finally got a table, the waiting game continued. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed and understaffed, resulting in an agonizingly slow service. It was frustrating to see other tables being served before mine, despite arriving later.
Moreover, the overall service was far from satisfactory. The waitstaff appeared disinterested and lacked any sense of urgency. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not their priority. It took ages for anyone to take my order, and even then, they seemed inattentive and unengaged. It was a constant struggle to get their attention for simple requests, such as drink refills or condiments. The lack of attentiveness and basic courtesy was incredibly disappointing.
To make matters worse, when my food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and lacked the quality I had come to expect from Buffalo Wild Wings. It seemed as if my meal had been hastily thrown together, with little care for presentation or taste. The flavors were lackluster, and the overall dining experience left a lot to be desired.
All in all, my visit to Buffalo Wild Wings was nothing short of a letdown. The excessive wait times and subpar service overshadowed any positives that might have existed. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and with no desire to return. I sincerely hope that Buffalo Wild Wings takes steps to address these issues and improve their customer service, as it was an experience I would not...
Read moreI’ve been in LOVE with bdubs for years but something recently has just put them at the absolute bottom of the totem pole. I’ve been to this location three times (only because their other location by me closed, I wonder why eye roll) and have never been impressed. Yesterday was my third time, Friday at 11am right when they opened hoping it would be dead. Nope. The server who was very sweet took my order almost immediately which was awesome because I was hoping to be in and out quickly. She brought my soda and it had no syrup in it. Tasted like bubbly tap water. I asked her to see if she could add more syrup to the machine, which she did, but that took at least an additional 5 mins. I waited and waited and waited and after about 35 minutes I received my single order of boneless wings & fries (lunch combo). The fries were cold (as always) so that was just expected, but the wings were dry and didn’t come with carrots or ranch. She left me a fork, with NO napkin and NO knife. It had already been about 45 minutes at this point so I didn’t even bother to ask for an extra side of sauce. I ate the 5 wings that were saucy and didn’t touch the fries. Sat for another 10 minutes looking for ANY server that could cash me out as it was now pushing 75 minutes…didn’t see a single one. At this point I was considering just leaving a $20 to get out of there. Every time I come for lunch it takes over an hour so I see why they discontinued their “break-fast” deal where food is free if it doesn’t come out in a reasonable amount of time. How are 9-5 workers supposed to come in for lunch if it takes well over an hour, not even including drive time?! Bdubs has always been one of my favorite wing places but after this experience I genuinely do not believe I will be back. There is a wingstop 2 minutes down the road. Save your time...
