I wanted to thank Cecilia, Billie, and the rest of the Avis staff at the Howard Street location in San Francisco. I live just around the corner from them. So, since I’ve had great experiences with the Post Street Avis location, I also started coming into the Howard Street location. Every time I come in for a rental, these ladies go above and beyond to help me out. In the past when I wanted a Ford Explorer specifically, Billie made that happen for me. This past weekend, I ended up getting the Hyundai Palisade pictured here because no Ford Explorers were available. Since I’d never even “seen” a Palisade, Cecelia had a fellow employee show me the exact vehicle I’d be getting the day before my rental period started. He did a full walk around with me and even discussed the differences between the Hyundai Palisade and the KIA Telluride; which I’m interested in owning. As it turns out, since KIA is an offshoot of Hyundai, the KIA Telluride and Hyundai Palisade are very similar. It’s like how the Chevy Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade are both made by GM. That said, above all else, I really appreciate the excellent customer service Billie, Cecilia, and everyone one at Avis on Howard Street give me. How they treat me as a customer is paramount to why I come here. I could honestly rent a car anywhere on the face of the earth. As I’ve stated though, I know where to get consistent top notch service. So guess where I’ll be going for a rental in September? 😉
P.S. Hey Cecilia and Billy, if you could hide me the 🦄 of Avis rentals (that Telluride), or a dark colored 2023 Ford Explorer for September, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks and see...
Read moreThis is the series of events as they occurred: 1.Book a reservation online. Arrive at rental car location with pre-paid reservation by my wife. Customer service representative (Bill/Billy) informs us that her debit card is not a valid form of payment because she is under the age of 25. I proceed to ask if I can put my credit card down as I am over 25, the agent scoffs at us and explains that it has to be her card as the reservation under her name. She was incredibly rude and essentially told us we were straight out of luck. I ask if we can cancel our existing reservation and book a new one under my name as I have a major credit card and am over 25. The agent responds with "No, that's not possible, we don't have any cars available." She essentially ended the conversation there unwilling to help us out. I proceeded to call customer service to see if anything could be done to book at that location. I was informed that if the status of the location is full, we can't get a car. Period. We have NO way of driving to the wedding. I ask to cancel the reservation. 8.We get charged $100.00 for canceling when we were assured there would be no fee associated with this cancellation by the desk agent.
A quick cancellation and re-booking would have not only allowed us to go to the wedding, but would also have allowed you to rent a car. I was dumbfounded to find out that your system supposedly makes it impossible to re-book a cancellation. I was also appalled by the lack of sympathy on behalf of your team.

Read moreI had a large SUV reserved for two months as I was traveling from San Francisco to Orlando Florida and had five adults and a lot of luggage. When I arrived, they gave me a Honda pilot with almost 60,000 miles on it and the brakes were failing. I drove to the San Francisco airport to trade it in. They said they had nothing available except a Chevy Malibu. I ended up having to ship most of my luggage home And it was a very uncomfortable four day ride for five adults in this little car.
