I’m SO happy I joined this gym! Even more happy with my results training with Zach!
After going to Fitness SF Castro for 5+ years, I finally got fed up with it basically being a kink bathhouse. I want to workout with other fitness people, who are there to improve their health and physique. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Live Fit Castro.
The equipment is all new! I really wish they remodeled the downstairs, moved the locker rooms down, so we had more training space upstairs, but nonetheless it is better than the previous 24 Hour Fitness.
For the most part, it’s lightly used still! So no waiting or crowds etc.
I train with Zach Bond. I’ve had 5+ trainers in my life, he is without a doubt my favorite I’ve ever had not to mention I’ve never seen results like this before! I’ve gained 12 pounds in two months! Muscle of course! I’m so motivated again and on days I’m working out with him I’m even excited!
My only recommendations would be turn down the music please! It’s blasting in some areas, most people want to listen to their own music, but it’s so loud that you can hear it through noise canceling headphones. I also hate the booty building machine, it’s so awkward compared to all the others I’ve used.
The staff are all so wonderful! They always greet you with a smile and even remember your name!
I’ve also worked out at Live Fit Valencia, Cole Valley, and Fairmont. Fairmont is great because it has a steam...

Cons: Towels had a slight cheesy smell to them Cancellation woes: I cancelled my membership because I was moving across the city to an area without LiveFit sites. You have to remember to cancel ahead of time and before your monthly payment goes in (ex. Youʻre charged Sept 1 for the next month Oct 1-31). Once youʻre charged itʻs difficult to dispute. The manager Bailey said he'd have to remind himself in a few weeks to cancel the upcoming payment, and for some reason wasn't able to cancel future payments on the spot. A month later I found another charge to my credit card and it turned out Bailey was on vacation and the reminder to cancel didn't go through in time. I let this one fly as I was planning to be in town a few times that month and could use the gym to hop into. Then a couple months later I found a $50 charge on my credit card which Bailey said was their annual fee that he would work to refund. Again, not sure why an annual fee was still in place when my membership was supposedly already cancelled.
Looking at other reviews, I'm going to be keeping an eye out for any other charges in the future. Definitely recommend email communication so that there's a paper trail...
Read moreThey kept charging my card for months after cancelling my membership. Made it impossible to cancel my membership. I was gaslit about the date that I called LiveFit to cancel (each time I called to ask why my cancellation hadn't yet been processed, they claimed this was the first they were hearing about me wanting to cancel). The associate from LiveFit demanded that I download my AT&T cell records, and email them to LiveFit, to prove that I had previously tried contacting LiveFit about cancellation.
I actually spent about an hour on the phone with AT&T getting the dates of my multiple calls, relayed this to LiveFit, and then the LiveFit associate said this wasn't sufficient--they literally needed me to send them a PDF file with my full call records.
UPDATE: If you call your CC company and do a chargeback, LiveFit actually has a system in place where their billing software will automatically re-charge the disputed charges. You need to literally have your CC company block all...
