I really want to still like Brewcade but they apparently have a suck factor that I was previously unaware of.
My dad who does not drink! was hassled at this video/pinball arcade bar called Brewcade in San Francisco, CA.
I only became aware of the history of this incident tonight when he texted me "lets' meet at The Myriad, I will never go to Brewcade again".
I agreed and asked him what happened and he explained how he was stopped at the door and admonished and hassled by "Jerrod" the manager who apparently came out to prevent the "friendly door man" (not to be confused with the jerk that grabbed my dad by the arm a few weeks earlier... read below) from allowing him entry for not having his I.D. with him a few weeks ago and apparently giving him a major hard time about that previous incident that this manager "Jerrod' and the current door man were not even present for.
I asked what do you mean a few weeks ago?!
He explained that a few weeks earlier he thought the doorman (more of a bouncer) was joking when after dozens of visits of not asking for an I.D. aggressively demanded he produce a government issued I.d. He has no drivers license and offered an SFMTA city government issued "photo I.D." RTC* -Clipper card. *The RTC Discount Card is available to qualified persons with disabilities and to senior citizens, 65 years of age or older. Proof of veteran disability – A copy of your Service-Connected Disability ID Card and your VA Certification letter demonstrating a disability rating for aid and attendance, or service-connected disability with a rating level of 50% or higher. The Brewcade bouncer refused the card and grabbed his arm (dad's about 5'7 and weights about 140 pounds, in remission from cancer...a real tough guy! )yelled at him repeatedly to get out.
Despite that one indecent, dad returned a few days later (he plays pinball for fun!) and a different door man allowed him entry multiple times without issue ( I know this because we meet there a few times, I play video games and he plays pin ball and he never mentioned any problem and I know him and he lets stuff go quickly...not like me). I do not know if they hate on older people coming in or what their deal is but I know that I will never go there again.
Back to the start of my story, its only tonight that I found out how my dad was mistreated by these jerks at Brewcade.
We ended up at "The Myriad" and got food and played pinball! they don't have any video machines = (, but its a chill hassle free friendly place where my...
Read moreThis place is such a fun hangout spot-l've been a few times now and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is electric, especially on the weekends. Yes, it can get a little loud and crowded, but that's kind of the charm. It's a lively, high-energy bar that feels like a perfect mix of retro arcade vibes and modern chill space. The bar service is super fast--which is impressive considering how busy it gets. You never have to wait too long for a drink or food, and the staff keeps things moving smoothly with great attitudes and quick hands. And let's talk about the food--I was genuinely blown away. The burger is one of the best l've had at any bar, seriously. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Everything on the menu feels like it's made with care, not just slapped together like you'd expect from a typical bar. It's the kind of place where you come for the drinks and games, but end up staying because the food is that good. There's also a giant TV that's perfect for watching games, fights, or whatever major event is on. It turns the whole bar into one big watch party, and there's something about cheering along with a room full of strangers that just makes it extra fun. Whether you're here to play some old-school arcade games, catch a game on the big screen, or just hang with friends and grab a great bite, it's definitely worth checking out. Loud? Yes. A little wild? Sure. But that's what makes it a great night out. I'll...
Read moreI’m a neighbor and used to come here every now and then and enjoyed myself until I was very seriously verbally harassed by someone working here for sitting at an empty table outside while eating a birthday sandwich with my bf.
I thought they were closed since it was early in the day and all the outdoor tables were open; no sandwich board on the sidewalk or sings of life through the windows. So I was quite taken aback when somebody came out to tell me the tables were only for paying customers. I would have happily bought a beer and become a paying customer, but this dude came at me with such aggression that I felt compelled to let him know that I had been a paying customer for years and he was putting my future patronage at risk for the way he was treating me. At this point, he’s straight up yelling at me, calling me a “white b*” and c,” while another employer comes out to physically hold him back. I try to calmly speak with him to find some sense of reason, but he only gets more intense.
Humiliated, I apologize to my bf and walk away, leaving behind any sliver of chance of...
