Hey, did you hear the one about the OG who walked into a vintage shop in North Beach and thought he'd been transported back to the 70s and 80s? Because everything looked brand spanking new.
That OG, of course, is me. And when my eyes fell upon a genuine Playboy cap in cherry condition, it was love at first sight. It turned out to be one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. People stop me on the street just to ask where I got it. "Hefner’s mansion?" I grin and tell them "I wish!" Then tell them where I scored it ("Missing Audrey Vintage!") and that I’m sure they, too, will discover something they'll fall in love with at first sight.
The charming proprietress, by the way—Sabrina, named after the celebrated Audrey Hepburn character—is way too young to know so much about the fashions, music and films of the past. This shop is the perfect balance of both; I was pulling out pieces left and right simply to gape at them, calling over my partner constantly to admire something.
