Mizu Spa — Local services in San Francisco

I have lived close to this spa for 4 years and finally gave them a try. I regret waiting so long!

I've been for waxing twice, a facial once and a gel mani pedi once. Every service was excellent. Probably the best facial I've had in years, Roya going to see me monthly now. She was thorough and gentle, my skin looks fabulous right now, smooth and glowy. I have sebaceous filaments so needed extractions, and don't know what products she used but my skin is very happy. Both waxers worked really quickly and did a great job - and they did my mani pedi as a team. I like very natural nails, but with gel polish so the mani lasts longer on my very thin nails. Their work was perfect. Oh - and I had a deep and very painful little claw wound from one of my kittens right under my pinky nail, so I couldn't soak that one, and they were able to dissolve the gel with a brush-on solution, and somehow trim and file and polish that finger without causing any pain at all. They were so careful.

Most of the staff have been there since they opened, 17 years ago!! I've never heard of a spa keeping their staff that long. They really have a good...

I've been here for both a massage and manicure. This place is very fancy, they have a person who greets you and while you wait for your esthestician you can read plenty of magazines and enjoy hot tea or water. The white chairs are leather and very soft and comfortable. You're given a hot towel to place on your neck while you get your manicure done and the feet soak is nice. The works don't speak Vietnamese to each other like other places (haha) if you really care about that. As for the massage, the first time I went here I had a swedish massage and while it was somewhat relaxing, didn't target or focus on my problem spots. The second time I came here the massage was amazing and I felt great! So it really depends on who you get. There is another cheaper manicure spot across the street and I prefer that one because of the price and they're just as good. But if you want to have the spa experience this...

I've had several scheduling issues with the receptionists at this spa - I call and schedule at a certain time and when I get there it turns out they scheduled me at a different time so I have to wait (from 1:45 pm to 2:30 pm, I live near by so I left and when I returned it turns out they said 2:45 pm - really?), they are not accommodating and pretty rude. If they were able to keep their schedule together I might have given them 2 stars, the services are okay but not worth the hassle of dealing with their...
