[This review is long overdue.]
My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement party at ATwater Tavern this past July, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue to celebrate with our ~70 guests. The beautiful weather allowed us to fully enjoy the fantastic indoor/outdoor space, creating a wonderful flow.
From start to finish, the experience was seamless, thanks in large part to Christina, their amazing event manager. She was incredibly organized, responsive, and ensured every detail was taken care of.
The food was fantastic! The extensive menu offered something for everyone, from delicious seafood and perfectly cooked tri-tip to thoughtful vegan options. Our guests loved the variety and quality. And the desserts were amazing! The rounds of food were paced perfectly throughout the evening.
The A/V setup was exactly what we needed – our Spotify playlist created the personalized atmosphere, and the photo slideshow on the screens was a lovely touch. The seating arrangement worked wonderfully for mingling and enjoying the celebration.
The staff at ATwater were also incredibly accommodating with our vendors. They were so helpful with the setup and breakdown for our flower wall & neon sign and the delivery of our floral arrangements, making the process stress-free.
The best touch of the night, and something everyone raved about, were the signature cocktails they crafted to celebrate our engagement: the Charleston Twist, Taiwanese Tea, and Martinez. They were delicious and such a thoughtful detail.
A huge thank you to Christina and the entire team at ATwater Tavern for hosting such an unforgettable and magical celebration. We highly recommend ATwater Tavern for any...
Read moreI just hosted a Celebration of Life party for my sister and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe the experience! We held it in the private venue upstairs, using both the The Crow's Nest (indoor area) and The Perch (outside deck with bay views). This part of SF is a delightful micro-climate that is frequently sunny and warm while other parts of the city can be foggy. Christina, the catering manager, was always responsive, detailed, and extremely helpful in so many ways, including menu suggestions, cutting down the amounts of food as I was over-estimating what we needed, helping me find the perfect florist, and allowing me to email her my 4+ hour Spotify playlist curated for this event; there were inside and outside speakers with separate sound controls.
This was my first time planning an event, and of course it was difficult while grieving the loss of my sister. Christina made it all so easy, and the event was truly flawless. Everyone raved about the delicious food, (deviled eggs, caprese skewers, vegetarian pinwheels, Spanish meatballs, mini crab cakes, white truffle mac and cheese balls, pulled pork sliders, burger sliders with cheddar, roasted red pepper aioli and caramelized onions, fish and chip cones, Caesar salad, roasted vegetable flatbread pizzas, and a platter of dessert bars-- raspberry Linzer, caramel brownies, lemon bars), the amazing service: Luis, Stephanie, and Jasmine worked like a well-oiled machine, and they all clearly loved their jobs; it felt as if I had a loving family helping me through the day.
Many thanks to the staff for the perfect day. I highly...
Read moreWent here and sat early for our reservation, which was one of the best parts of our visit.
I used to run restaurants, so I'm usually pretty forgiving as I know and get what's going on behind the scenes. I'm willing to forgive missteps as long as the experience overall is positive, this visit wasn't like that.
Drinks that were ordered got screwed up, appetizer that was ordered had to be sent back and remade because the mod we requested to accommodate an allergy wasn't done, our orders weren't taken until after we had gotten our second appetizer and finished it and I had to ask to have it taken, asked for chicken to be added to a salad and we didn't get the chicken until after the meal. Had to request refills twice before we got them.
I got the BBQ plate and the steak and chicken weren't seasoned. The grill was either too hot or wasn't cleaned because the inside of the steak and chicken were cooked just fine but all I could taste was char. The sausage on the plate was also charred, but as it actually had flavor it ended up being the best thing on the plate. I like a good char but it was all too much. I couldn't taste the chimichuri on the steak through the char. I still ate it as I've eaten worse but for $34, it was a very poor dish.
No management presence that I could see, either.
Tried my friend's mushroom ravioli, they were good.
The quickest part of the service was paying.
Definitely will not be back and cannot recommend based...
