Steven, my stylist for eleven years and my colorist for the last three, is brilliant. In all this time, he has consistently delivered the perfect style and color.
Steven patiently talks me through various options, and will offer opinions or follow instructions, or do some combination of both - whatever I ask. I feel safe in his hands because I trust his judgment and impeccable sense of style. He is exceptionally creative and precise.
Steven has executed every kind of hairstyle imaginable with me, at all lengths, as well as highlights of various shades and dimensions. He has done a phenomenal job with both cut and color every time. People always ask me where I get my hair done because he is so awesome.
Of less obvious import, but essential to me, is Steven's presence. He is a smart, hilarious, and kind person. I know for a fact that he won't talk to you if you prefer to sit in the chair in silence, but I never want that. I have fun at my appointments because I get to talk to a high quality person. I can't imagine going to anyone else.
In its current incarnation, Veer & Wander has been around for just a few years, but I didn't notice any turnover when it changed names. As far as I know, they only added people, all of whom I like.
The cosmetics counter came in with the name change. I love it. The people on that side have great ideas, and have taken time trying different products on my face to see what works. I really like shopping in there.
Every experience in my decade there has been positive. That's a rare statement to make with any business relationship, and especially one in a service industry focused on the loaded...
Read moreI’ve been going to Veer & Wander for over a year now, and when I say it’s my favorite hair salon that I’ve ever been to, I mean it! I’ve been seeing the owner Connie every time I go. We have built a great friendship, making my experience there even more pleasant than it already is. She remembers everything that I tell her from previous visits, and knows how to keep a conversation flowing, which is key in my book. Other than being a great person in general, she is also a great hairstylist. I never walk away from V&W with disappointment— I actually love my hair even more every time I go! My last visit I was planning on getting just a touch up on the original color that I had gotten about 4 months ago. When talking about going back to Brooklyn for college, Connie came up with the marvelous idea of going a few shades darker, to achieve a more “nyc winter look.” Of course I trusted Connie’s judgement, and now I walk down the street, receiving compliments after compliments. Although now I live in Brooklyn, I still come back to V&W on my trips home to SF because it is seriously my favorite place to be! Not just Connie, but all the other employees at V&W are splendid. If you are looking for a new hair salon, V&W is...

I’ve decided to repost my review because the amount of money I have had to pay to repair my hair is MORE than what I paid for services.
In September I came in and told the owner I have fragile hair and only use Wella or Lanza to lift because it doesn’t dry my hair. She assured me her Italian products were just as gentle.
Her products FRIED my hair…..now 3 months later no amount of keratin or oil treatments has been able to smooth out the damage or repair it…..I am going to have cut off most of my hair!!!
You can see if you look closely the white streaks in my hair!!! This is because for the entire hour she had the product on my hair she did NOT check my hair once to see how it was processing even though she sat 15 feet from the the whole time. So I have streaks of platinum blonde in my hair along with my hair just being totally fried. THE COLOR IS TOTALLY UNEVEN! She DID NOT use a toner. I’ve spent more than the $200 that was refunded to me in an attempt to heal my hair to NO AVAIL! My hair has just continued to fall out………
Don’t risk it folks no one should still be suffering 3 months later from damage like this!!! If you have fragile hair DO...
