After 13 years and 210,000 miles I found myself in need of a new car. I had a 2006 Saturn Vue and was just checking to see if there were any used VUE's for sale and I came across a 2008 Saturn VUE RL with 89,000 miles on carfax and she look very nice. I sent a message to them see if it were still available and they responded quickly and it was. The car was at CARFORNIA in San Jose. I talked to them on the phone after reading many very good review about them and decided it was worth the drive to San Jose to see it. My experience with Emin, and Sam and everyone else at CARFORNIA was amazing. They were honest, straightforward, kind, respectful, and honorable. I drove the car, had a friend of mine who's a car guy come and check it out and he, too, was very impressed, not only with the car but the people as well. I did not buy the car that day, but I did buy it the next day. The price was good, and there was a 30 day, 1000 mile warranty for the engine and transmission. Emin made the process extremely easy. I got her home and noticed a few things and took it to my mechanic and there were several things that needed to be done. I called Emin and he said bring it back, we will take care of it all and give you a loner car. I could on and on with this story, but the bottom line is, they went above and beyond in taking care of the issues and the kindness and consideration has been unlike any other experience I have had with any other dealership ever. I had been looking for a first generation Toyota Sequoia Limited 4x4 with low miles and in good condition. Out of nowhere I saw a post by these guys that fit my exact criteria for the car I wanted. Being from Los Angeles, I called and spoke with Elvin, who was very friendly and sent me an extensive walk around video of the car so I could see it before I flew up to San Jose. As I pulled up to the lot, my initial reaction was a little hesitant as their lot was off the beaten path and the surrounding area was not the best. But from the second I stepped onto the lot, Emin, Elvin, Seymour and the rest of the guys there were extremely friendly and welcoming. They showed me the car, which was in perfect condition as described. I took it for a test drive and everything was in good order. The transaction went smoothly and even after I had signed the check, Seymour noticed the front license plate was a little bent and offered to buy new plates and have them sent to me, something he clearly did not need to do seeing as I had already paid. Went to check out a 2006 Lexus IS250 and was left very disappointed in the vehicle and the customer service. The listing stated that the car was clean inside and out, which was only partially true. I understand that a 15 year old car will have some wear and tear, but there were significant issues with the vehicle. Front hood struts and trunk struts were broken, exhaust tip broken, rearview mirror covered in markings and completely unusable, drivers seat height adjustment wasn't working, center console lid broken. The worst part is that the salesman showing me the vehicle acted as if he'd never seen these issues before. Supposedly, they inspect every vehicle before they list it for sale, so I'm not sure what went wrong here. To their credit, they did offer to fix most of the issues at no cost, but when I arrived, I expected to leave with a clean vehicle and peace of mind, none of which were satisfied.
