I came here to see the new Suspiria film after almost losing hope that it wasn’t going to show in any theaters around the SLO area. Thankfully I came across the Palm theater which apparently shows tons of great independent films! I was a little worried about the quality at first seeing this is a bit smaller of a theater in the online reviews. From pictures it was hard to tell how small the screens were but in person, even though they’re a bit smaller than a normal theater screen, they are actually just about the perfect size. Apparently they upgraded their sound systems to Dolby 5.1 a few years ago and I’m happy to say the sound was also pretty good, especially since they dim all the lights when the movie starts and close the door to block outside noise which are two things that can really make or break an experience for me. Seats were comfortable and from what I could tell were in good shape. Can’t wait to come back for another indie flick to check off...

What I trade away in reclining lounge chairs and Dolby surround I get back in a far superior movie selection then I would find in any multiplex. The popcorn is buttery and not outrageously priced and the three theaters are"cozy". My most recent visit was a long overdue viewing of "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" (I hope that's right) which has long since left the mainstream theaters. It was perfect. A definite 5 star movie in a definite five star...

They offer everything a big theater offers at a fraction of the cost. Also, their walls are covered with murals of old and new actors of Hollywood. My favorites happen to be Clark Gable and Marlon Brando. The chairs are a bit small but that's my only con. I'm so glad I have had the pleasure to come to this theater. It has easily become one of my favorite places. Make sure to check their webpage before...
