Very disappointing customer service from an employee and manager. I went in with my husband for holiday shopping on Dec.15th. The eager sales person sold us on buying an immersion blender we wanted that was not instock but assisted us to purchase it online, right there in the store. She assured us it would arrive by Christmas and we left with a print out and a confirmation delivery day of Dec. 24-27th.
We received multiple emails from Williams-Sonoma and the delivery date kept getting pushed out, Jan 6, Jan 14, then May 8th!
I called customer service to see if it was a typo- it was not. The immersion blender is out of stock and on backorder. I was told I could cancel the order or wait. The customer service was very helpful and checked any stores with stock and found one in Oregon. She said I would have to call to order it and get it shipped to the local SLO store and then cancel my existing order to get it sooner.
When I called the store in SLO to ask for help with this, the Manager answered and was short, frazzled and complained she was helping a customer and put me on hold, even though she didnt ask to put me on hold at first. She came back a few minutes later and was complaining she didnt even have the store open yet and would need a few hours to call the Oregon store and get back to me.
Later that afternoon I received a call back from the same Manager and was told that customer service was incorrect and Oregon had no inventory of my item. She offered me no recourse, or apologies even though her staff was so eager to get the sale under false pretenses.

After waiting weeks and calling/visiting often I was finally informed by an associate that an orange pumpkin braiser I was waiting on would arrive the following week (Thursday). I went in and looked at other items in anticipation of my braiser. I called a couple times to make sure it was still going to be part of their delivery. Finally on the day of said arrival I show up and there is no item due to shipping delays. Fine I can understand that. I leave my number and information again and call throughout the day. They tell me they're still not done with their stock. Finally I call one last time and spoke to a very rude associate who said no said item had arrived and was not in stock in any store anywhere. She basically said I was crazy because no-one at their store would have given me said information. Weeks, days and hours of waiting for nothing just to be disappointed and treated like crap. The products in this store are supurb. I buy all of my chocolate cocoa from here. William Sonoma also has food samples for the season. In fall they have their pumpkin bread mix to sample usually with their pumpkin butter. Always a purchase for me. Christmas is gingerbread, or their hot cocoa or peppermint bark. Wandering around the store munching on your sample, you get to take in the inventory of the latest kitchen electronics.
