Columbia Factory Store — Local services in San Marcos

My husband and I went to the outlets to shop at the Columbia store for the buy one get one 50% off shoe discount with a Christmas gift card. Before I made my purchase, I went to a cashier to check what the actual discounted amount was. The cashier scanned both pairs of shoes, and it came out to $ 80. When I was done shopping and got in line to pay, with a different cashier, she charged a total of $102.99. One pair of shoes was $56.99, and the other pair was clearanced at $49.00. The total would be $105.99, without a discount. I can only assume the discounted or clearanced shoes were marked further. The total that the other cashier rang up was $102.99. This was not a buy one get one 50% off amount. I tried to explain to her, and she refused to honor the 50% off for one pair of shoes. Her only resolve was that they had the same register system, and she couldn't explain why her register wasn't coming out with a different total. Then, she wrote down the discounted amount on a piece of paper after figuring it out on a calculator, and the amount was correct. But, she still didn't grasp that the total of $102.99 didn't match up with the discounted amount of $80. I ended up buying one pair of shoes with other items and left. I was so disappointed. Bought a jacket online and within 1 week, it had a big hole on the seam. I was in shock with such poor quality. When I contacted Columbia’s customer service, I was certain they would offer a thousand apologies and compensate me for their poor workmanship. Surprised I was that all they said they “could do” was offer me a “free” return of the jacket for my money back. Seriously? They’re not doing anything other than poor obligation letting me return the broken product they sold me. I was completely upset because at any other retailer I’ve had problems with, like Amazon, they would compensate for the trouble somehow. They did nothing, and I would still have to spend more to pay the gas and precious time trying to return the item. Love this store!! It truly is an outlet store!!! It's quite large and offers a wide range & type of clothes for all ages. The have something to cover you from the top of your head to your feet. The prices were fantastic!! They have plenty of staff available who are knowledgeable of their products and store layout. All the stores in this outlet mall should model theirselves after this store. Their prices, staff, wide range of all seasons (winter through fall) products offered were top of the line!! I shop a lot (probably too much - lol) I would say this was in my top 5 of best shopping experience! I would give them a 6 out of 5 stars if I could!!
