Got Toys — Local services in San Marcos

I first visited the store on Saturday, August 19th, the day of their soft opening. When I first walked in, I was astonished by the selection. The inside of the store is HUGE. You could easily spend hours shopping there. They have anything and everything you can think of. The staff was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. You can tell they're all big kids at heart by the amount of enthusiasm they all share. I walked out with a whoopee cushion, bouncing egg, voice changer, magnetic gyro wheel, and a pen that looks like a wand. Hands down the absolute best Toy Store I've ever seen in San Marcos. Keep in mind that this is a college town and a lot of the items towards the front of the store are geared towards that audience. You will find curse words and adult themed items there. Showed up as what I imagine is a rare patron: there to purchase something specific; not browse & walk out with nothing. This was made clear on entering the store when asked if I could be helped. Of course I still browsed before getting what I came for -it's a toy store! I even left my items visibly on the register as I continued shopping. It could not have been made any more clear they thought we were there to steal, following us with arms crossed and even asking me about an item my SO has purchased AS I AM CHECKING OUT AND IN PROGRESS OF MAKING A PURCHASE MYSELF. I get we're in a college town, I'd much rather leave my bag at the register than have this sort of treatment that sucks the fun out of a businesses that relies on fun. Not...

I have no idea why this store has 3.9 stars because whenever I have been in with my son all we have received is 5 star care and attention. The store felt very welcoming and there were so many great things for kids and adults of all ages. Upon entering the store the woman let us know that the front of the store was more adult themed and the back was for the kiddos. I appreciated her letting me know right away. The toys are excellent quality and an excellent price ESPECIALLY for being a local toy store. We much prefer this over Walmart or the likes. Give this place a shot!
