UP CHARGE WARNING FOR MOCHA LOVERS....
I think that most of you that have read my reviews I am pretty fair with my comments. And the fact that I love 85 degrees. This actually has to do with this location, service, training and quality.
#1 be prepared to wait outside still. Only 5 people allowed inside at a time at this location.
#2 my gripe.. I've ordered their ice mocha for years with whipping cream (included with drink) and if the cashier asks me if I want it with whipping cream and you plan on charging me then you should tell me. Which of course this is where my ranting comes in. I get that whipping cream is a ".50 cent add on" but if that is how the drink is described on the menu then it is assumed included, right? So of course now I'm being charged. With that said I asked for a refund. Which was kindly done. Yet after waiting outside for 15 min to get my beverage I became more frustrated with this. So I had to say something to the young man that delivers the drinks (outside). I explained to him the menu and showed him a picture from the 85 degrees menu and waited for my drink. Which he said they would correct (which they did)
#3 quality of my drink and training. The same young man that came out to deliver my drink. Apologized about the confusion and explained that the cashier was told that whipping cream is an add on. Which I get. So I'm over the whipping cream issue. Now I'm waiting for my drink. And here we go again with disappointment, here's my drink (see photo) about a 1/2 inch below the full mark and very dark in color. I haven't even tried a sip yet but I know based on this, it's not going to taste like an ice mocha. Has more of a chocolate color. I've had enough of these to already know. Just tried it now. I'm even more bummed about the taste, nope not mocha.. can't afford to wait again for a remake of my drink (which goes to my training issue) for the cost of a drink which is a guilty pleasure, I'm a truly disappointed today.
I'm not a one time customer at the Valencia location but I'm finally done purchasing here. I love 85 degrees, this won't stop me from other locations. My faves are Northridge...
Read moreWell, this service was very upsetting to me due to the fact that I was just the day before visiting this location. I was at the location in Sacramento, California, where the service was excellent, and they actually had more choices to choose from, but that. Neither here nor there what is what bothered me. I was more bothered with the gentleman who worked at the store that kept following my children and I around like we didn't belong. I was more bothered that I had to ask for particular things to happen within my transaction as if I wasn't at another location less than 24 hours ago, and I know, hence, different Hey.locations, different experiences. Trust I don't like feeling uncomfortable when i'm spending my money, and i'm introducing something new to my children and a person who has issues with people with darker melanie skin. I just found it very interesting that he chose not to follow anyone else around the store.Hence I also found it very interesting that you held my bags until my transaction was completely paid for. And i'm not just Just to say it because I was just there at another less than twenty-four hours prior. I really enjoy the pastries and other things that they offer, such as their drinks. So, you don't need to search yummy to my tummy. That just made me see it that I will need to go further to get a different type of atmosphere to enjoy this wonderful bakery. Please don't treat a person anytime away because stereotyping people is a serious sad situation, and I believe prejudging others by their skin color...
Read moreFirst time in an 85°C Bakery Cafe and I definitely enjoyed what I had. It was hard to choose as everything looked great and there was plenty for a vegetarian like me to choose from. I settled on a Spinach and Kale Danish which may have been an odd choice for this decidedly Asian-feel bakery...but it was as good as I'd had anywhere else. I took a milk-tea muffin home which I had that evening. The texture of the bread part itself was a tiny bit rubbery for my tastes but the custard filling was a surprise and delicious.
The star for me was the Iced Sea Salt Tea. The thick se-salt infused cream at the top fo the drink, mixed with the black oolong tea as absolutely crave-worthy and a drink I will definitely go back to many times.
There's a lot more to try (and I will.) My major complaint is my wife is gluten-free and they have absolutely nothing gluten-free so I won't be able to head there that much without excluding her from getting anything. So bummer there.
Otherwise, I really...
