I went in to Hook Burger in Valencia and ordered at the counter to go. I got our two sandwiches home and found both the Chicken AND Beef were grossly under cooked and could not be eaten (chicken should not be pink and beef not nearly blood red). If I cooked it this way myself I would deem it a risk of getting a food born illness. The irony is last night we had the exact same sandwiches (the Hook Burger and Chicken Caprice) and they were perfect Since I was at home I called them and they do not answer their phone. They have a recording saying leave a message and we will return your call the next day. Amazing. So if a customer has an order issue or staff is doing something that could harm people it just has to wait until the next day to "maybe" be addressed (that is yet to be seen). I can't help but think, how can I trust a restaurant with the more serious sanitation requirements due to covid, hand washing etc, if they do not even cook food safely, the proper length of time? So if you want a great sandwich you might get one here.... or you may get sick. I like gambling, just not with my or my loved ones health, especially during these times.
UPDATE- It is the net day and someone from this location did return my phone message. They apologized and offered replacement sandwiches which I declined. They then offered a refund if I would come in with my card, and apologized again. The restaurant business has to be one of the hardest to succeed at. There is not much room for employee error. Customers put their trust in the business and all it takes is one bad meal to lose that customer. Of course mistakes happen, it is to be expected and most people do understand when an error occurs. It is the serious mistakes that can affect health that there are no...
Read moreFirst time at Hook Burger tonight, and I’m glad I wandered in after shopping at Target. I was about to head into Panda Express, but this place caught my eye.
I was greeted by Luke, who couldn’t have been nicer. Since I’d never been before, he walked me through the menu, pointed out the Hickory Burger as their most popular, and shared that his personal favorite is the California Burger. I went with the California because caramelized onions and fresh avocado were calling my name. Added fries and a passion unsweetened iced tea to round it out.
Ordering is quick: place it up front, grab a number, and take a seat. Even on a Saturday night, there was plenty of seating and my food came out quickly. Luke personally brought my meal over, made sure I had everything I needed, and even offered sauces. I went with ranch and chipotle mayo which were perfect for dipping my fries.
The food was great, but what stood out to me was the customer service. Luke and another team member stopped by my table mid-meal just to check in, which you don’t always see at fast-casual spots. They also have three TVs playing sports. The whole experience felt welcoming and effortless.
Great food, even better service. I’ll...
Read moreAs a burger lover I was ecstatic to have a big juicy burger. The service in taking my order was helpful and sweet. But if you get a burger, fries and coke it jumps from. A 10 dollar burger to a 20 dollar meal. I chose to just get a drink and burger which was $15... when I got the burger it looked so small to me that I was immediately saddened...when I took a bite I could absolutely taste the quality of the meat and it was juicy. However, I could taste the grill on the outside of the meat and Again I was saddened as it's not one of my favorite flavors. I finished my food and was still hungry. A burger here is definitely not enough and I'm not a big female.
For how much a meal costs it seems like it should be fancier but I have to admit I wasn't upset with the ambiance. It just doesn't fit...
