I had a blowout appointment with Madeline, and the experience was disappointing from the start. My appointment was at 10 AM, and when I checked in at the front, she said, “I just got here, so I need a moment,” in a tone that felt more annoyed than professional. To be clear, I wasn’t rushing her, I was simply checking in, on time, as scheduled. If she needed a moment, she absolutely could’ve taken it (as she did), but the attitude made it seem like I was inconveniencing her just by being there. That’s not the kind of energy you want to start a service with.
The shampoo experience was uncomfortable, lots of tugging, too much product on my hair but barely anything for my scalp.
During the blowout, she told me she didn’t know how to part hair, which was honestly shocking. She said it was because I wasn’t facing her, so I turned to face her. Then she misunderstood and thought I was planning to do the parting myself (it was a middle part). I had to clarify that I expected her to handle it.
When the blowout was finished, my hair looked stiff. She didn’t check if I was happy with it, just said, “Oh look, we did the volume you wanted,” which wasn’t true. I had to buy serum and finishing spray at the store, go home and redo my hair myself.

If you don't know where to start or are a dedicated beauty person, ask for her by name. This location typically has ratchet customer service. Countless experiences where the employees don't understand customer service. Rarely have I been asked if I needed help, literally since this location opened. Today was vastly different. Not only does Becca have what it takes, Yulissa is the first sales associate to ever advise if I've forgotten my Ulta coupon to check my email or the web. Literally ever. Their manager(so sorry I can't remember her name) and these ladies are there Friday-Monday. I literally avoided this location over a year due to poor customer service. No greetings upon entry, no associate offer of help. One visit an employee was waxing another's face. They asked me to wait versus pausing the waxing. It is interesting that an employee would value a complimentary service to another employee over making a profit. I'm so glad today gave me hope for this location. Please Ulta! I came to this location to get makeup done before a friend’s wedding and it came out really awful. The foundation used was yellow and orange and did not match my skin tone. When I brought it up the makeup artist insisted it was okay, that it was the lightest shade and that you wanted it to show up in photos. But I’m certain I didn’t want to show up yellow and orange in the wedding photos. There was a harsh line at the base of my neck from the foundation that she insisted wouldn’t show because of my dress, but would have. The false lashes she put on me weren’t fitted correctly and were not on my lash line and were poking me in the eye. I ended up taking them off. The service was supposed to only be an hour but lasted two. I ended up going to Sephora to get someone to fix my face and was super late to helping the bride get ready.
