Orange Dinosaur — Local services in Saugus

It is, I suppose, gaudy but there are theories that dinosaurs 🦖 were actually colorful. Every time I went to Logan Airport as a kid, I would look forward to seeing this dinosaur! I always wanted to visit the miniature golf ⛳ course that was there. No one else in my family wanted to. When I 🙉 heard that the miniature golf course and batting cages were closing down, I wondered what would happen to the Orange 🍊 🦖 Dinosaur. I was relieved to see it standing in the same spot during construction 🚧 of the new 🆕 🏢 buildings. I was surprised to see it covered in Christmas lights! Woah! Very nice! The Orange Dinosaur is one of the iconic fixtures along US 1 South Saugus /RT 99. Other fixtures are the Hilltop Steakhouse Restaurant sign with its green lights. I don't know what happened to the black cows. They were usually nicked and ended up in odd places. The Leaning Tower of Pizza 🍕 at Prince Pizzeria and on US Hwy 1 North or RT 1 North ⬆️ in Saugus, the illuminated Kappy's Liquor sign. Google Maps will take you near it but it tells you to turn left ⬅️ when you should turn right ▶️ at Collins Avenue . You should Google Kane's Doughnuts Rt 1 Broadway and you will have a better look at it there. One website says that the Orange Dinosaur is considered a National landmark, is 12' tall and was once damaged by vandels. It has a fence next to it. Update: October 2025; I am nervous about doing an update because I love ❤️ the response from the Orange 🧡 Dinosaur 🦖! It was great talking about the icons along RT 1 Saugus! I brought my son and he was "Meh!" because he couldn't get close to the Orange Dinosaur . He did not understand why people would vandalize him. Kane's Donuts has an orange dinosaur 🦖 on thier counter. I am seeing 🙈 the resemblance to Bob Hope. Not the "Call Me Bwana" but Bob's later years on television 📺. As a kid living in East Boston my family was always driving on RT. 1 and driving by you was always great especially when we stopped for ice cream or a game of mini golf.
