I had the worst experience at the Schaumburg location inside Woodfield Mall. I do not remember the lady’s name but she was the oldest lady in there. We walked in and explained to her that I wanted my jewelry inspected and cleaned and she said in a very sarcastic tone “Thank you for bringing this to me on a Saturday”. What a way to make someone feel welcomed especially since they were not busy at all.
I gave her 2 wedding rings, 2 bracelets, a pair of earrings and a necklace to inspect and clean. She only inspected one bracelet. Didn’t ask for a phone number to add notes or check the warranty. She took everything to get it cleaned but came back without my earrings. I had to tell her that I was missing my earrings. She walked back to the cleaning machine and found them on the floor. She didn’t inspect them for damage afterwards. She then proceeded to put all my jewelry on the counter and ignore us afterwards to help another couple who was looking to buy a ring. We left the mall and had to go to another Kay location at York Town Center in Lombard and had a much more pleasant experience! They apologized for the rudeness of the lady at the 1st store even though it was not their fault.
Edit: Andrea, I tried calling the store yesterday. In fact, I called 22 times and no one answered. I have also attempted to reach out to you today, Sunday with no answer. Is there a better way...
Read moreWe went in for a routine inspection/cleaning this past Friday, 06/13/25. The person who helped us was lovely however there was another woman, possibly a manager who made the experience very unpleasant. The woman who was helping us was a little older and maybe moving a little more slowly than the manager (I believe her name was Linda but am not 100%) and she was very rude to the one helping us. The woman helping us was inspecting our jewelry and the other woman told her to use different equipment. The one helping us said she was okay using the current equipment and the manager audibly sighed and rolled her eyes. Then the woman helping us was advising us to find and bring in a necklace that we have on our account and the manager woman did not like this, told her to focus on the jewelry we brought in and did this in a very rude and condescending manner. It was very clear that she did not like the woman helping us. I can understand trying to move things along when it is busy but there were no customers waiting and there is a more professional way to do this. If you have an issue with your employee, this should be addressed in private and not in an embarrassing manner in front of customers. She had no patience for the older woman...
Read moreHad a very poor experience at this location. She was on the older side, had blonde hair, (i think she had a bobcut.) I think her name was Linda. Our experience was very degrading. We went into the store just trying to figure out what shape and size diamond my friend liked on her finger. This lady approached us and was very straight forward said, "Okay, well how much is his budget?" We said we weren't sure because we were just looking at shapes and styles, as we had told her. She began to say, "Well you don't want to be looking at this diamond if he can only afford this one." while pointing to a ring that a very small diamond surrounded by supporting small diamonds This was very off putting for us. Regardless or not of what the budget is or was, the intention of walking into the store was to find out what the shape she felt fitted her best. Its not like she would be the one to buy the ring for herself. It was very degrading and rude, i dont think ladies like that should be working in this area. Nobody deserves to be treated this way, rich poor or whatever the case may be. Seems like ive read a review about an older lady at this location, might want to look into this as this may be a reason for slower business or poor...
