When I first heard of pop shelf, I was visiting Texas. I was excited to find out they were building one in Schererville, IN. I have been here three times and customer service is very lacking. Out of my three experiences the last one affected my 7 year old child. My 7 year old was excited to get anything at any store especially at pop shelf. She went to the counter without me knowing and put her stuff there to âcheckoutâ. I wasnât ready as I was shopping for birthday party stuff. As a 7 year old she was very eager. The cashier asked my 7 year old for money and of course my 7 year old doesnât have money because mommy wasnât ready yet. My 7 year old ran up to me and asked me for money. I pay with a debit card so I told my daughter Iâm almost ready and to grab the items so we can pay in a couple of minutes. My daughter went to grab the items but the cashier did not give her the three small items. At first I did not mind she didnât give us the three items. So in no time, I was ready and went up to pay for my stuff. I had a cart and a two small baskets of stuff, therefore I mean business when I shop. My daughter runs to the counter first and asks for her items but noticed they were gone. I was right behind her and I asked the cashier where the items were. She said I have them. I was like âok where? â (thinking to myself) because they werenât up there in a visible place and I have yet to personally see the items my 7 year old put on the counter and wanted to make sure they were ok for purchase. The cashier did not show the items. She said I already scanned them earlier in a condescending tone. I can only assume she thought my 7 year old wasnât going to pay for the items. Which would be a smart though because I know kids and adults steal except the fact that she wasnât alone in the store and I was there and the rest of the employees and she saw me and my family walk into the store. Important to bring back that I had bad experiences with this cashier for those two other visits in the past. Therefore, I can only conclude she scanned them waited for us to finish so she can finish her tasks yet I am confused because we werenât the only customers. I donât understand how a cashier would scan a 7 year old items and state she was waiting for her to pay. To conclude, she did not show me the items after asking a second time. She said they were in a bag. She had an attitude and was condescending throughout my visits. I felt like she did not deserve my business. I told her no I changed my mind. I donât like the way we are treated and I donât want my cart of stuff plus two small shopping baskets of stuff. I left the items there at the front so she can put them away. I informed her she had some racial profiling with us especially the Hispanic community and I left the store. In my heart, my money is good somewhere else and I donât have to be judged in that pop shelf. Iâm sure she has to be educated to be a business owner, a cashier, or a manager but so am I. I may not look like I have a masters degree, that I own my house, own car, own career and take care of my kids. Walmart got my business once again. They have birthday party...
Read moreNormally great experience. Today 8/5/25 3 women on staff. Only one actually greeted me and the other was doing back stock. The manager. Unfriendly and unwelcoming.
Picture of cushions were listed as being on sale. Posted as being on sale, I bought them all and they didnât ring for sales price. Manager was rude. I bought a cart full of things. As leaving no one offered to assist to my car, which normally the other staff would. Today⌠they were busy gossiping as to why they wouldnât lose their job to honor the sales price.. I pushed a full cart out the door struggling and the cashier (only one working) found items I bought she didnât give me or offer to help me with⌠Overall, bad experience and I took the time to sit outside the store and write this in the heat. They all truly failed at doing their jobs.

also, they opened several minutes late after one of the staff pounded on the front door for a couple minutes. And, the staff park in the spaces closest to the store under the only shade tree. something you would think they would reserve for customers.
again, nice store, clean, but pricing is random, and they will not match the shelf pricing at the register. I sent this information to the town and to corporate customer service. Neither acknowl shed receipt.
