This store has my name written all over it in terms of style so I was super excited to shop her for a simple dress for a prom that I got invited to last minute. Iām a 2024 highschool grad so I am currently a freshman in college and recently 18. (This is important later) All the employees at the store were so welcoming from the minute we walked in and I grabbed a handful of dresses to try on and the staff in the dressing rooms were incredible, checking to make sure I was good every couple minutes. We go to the check out and the cashier, Gabby, started out really nice complimenting the color of my shirt. Then continues to ask what we were shopping for. After I told her it was for prom she IMMEDIATELY gave me a nasty look and asked when prom was and I said next Saturday and she says āyouāre a little late arenāt youā and gives another disgusted look. After asking what school I go to I tell her Iām going as a guest with one of my friends since Iāve already graduated and she continues to say āwow Iām shocked theyāre even letting you inā and rolls her eyes again. I absolutely adore this store and will continue to shop here but she really put a damper on the mood of the whole thing. Iām lucky enough to be confident and easy going so I am laughing about this whole situation, but if this happened to younger shopper who is insecure or anxious this would have completely destroy them. I hope Gabby isnāt allowed to talk to the customers anymore because she was immediately reported to another employee who was very sweet. Gabby, have the day...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy shopping experience at Altarād state was a bit dis-heartening. And I understand what I am about to say is probably an issue corporate needs to solve, however, I am going to say it. I felt marginalized against as a āplus size brideā because they did not carry the bridal items I needed in an XL. I am a well-endowed woman in the breast area and thatās a big factor of why I need a larger size. From my understanding- it didnāt even seem like the āplus size storeā Arula carried the same items I wanted in a larger size. I did stop into Arula however and Noah was an absolute gem! 10/10 & 5 stars for her. Just wanted to put this as a warning for anyone that is considering stopping by and shopping. Altarād state is supposed to be a Christian based store, and theologically, I would think that the creator of the universe would want to be inclusive and loving of all of his children. I was too embarrassed to bring it up in the store because shopping is one of my biggest triggers with body issues. Furthermore, it can come off as fatphobic and thatās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter was SO excited to finally get to shop in the in-person store. She knew exactly what she wanted, so I quickly took her in after an early Sunday dinner. This is how we were greeted:
Store employee: Hi! Welcome in! We close in 18 minutes. Me: Weāre aware. Thanks.
As we are walking though the store going to check the size of shorts my daughter picked out, we watch the same store employee say to another customer, āJust so you know, we close in twelve minutes.ā
For all of you waiting on the edge of your seat, we checked out five minutes before close, because, again, my daughter knew exactly what she wanted going in, and we knew we would be quick.
Hopefully that store employee got to her hot date at closing time or whatever she needed to be sure to...
