I normally don't leave reviews but on this experience I have to! My Husband took me and our son to this restaurant on Valentine's Day we was there around 6:30pm and we sat outside on a table of four facing the courtyard. We had this "very nice" waitress she was white and we are a black family..although color should not matter I believe it was the cause for what was done.
My and my son's food was brought to us by different person that was not the "very nice" waitress. After a couple of minutes the waitress comes with my husband's food and she's all smiles... it is our custom to always pray over the food and so we did. My Husband bites into his chicken sandwich and immediately tasted a chemical test (he didn’t say anything to me right away) he kept eating and then he feels thick slimy texture on his sandwich that does match with the overall texture or feel of the sandwich. He stopped eating the sandwich and took a sip with a straw of the apple juice he ordered and the first sip had also a slimy spit taste!!! My husband stopped eating because he felt his food was heavily tempered with. ..he did not make a big deal out of it because he did want to "ruined the experience for me".
About one hour and half later we got home and didn’t eat any thing else. My Husband suddenly has a huge stomachache and goes to the bathroom, he has diarrhea and feels nauseous. The next day 2/15 /2024 he was feeling weak and having blur vision for most of the day, he drunk ginger tea and helped his upset stomach a little. Today 2/16/2024 , he woke up about 5am feeling horrible, he yells "Wife" I jump out of the bed to find him on his knees like he is about to vomit. I asked him what is going on and before he can answer he vomited..3 times...
Our belief is that this "nice" white waitress smiling on our face was putting an act while despising the fact that she needs to serve a black couple. I thank God she spared me and my son's health becuase otherwise my 2 year old black baby would have ended up in the emergency room from food poison!!
We believe the she spit and threw some chemicals on my husband's food and juice. If it wasn’t for the fact that we prayed over the food, my husband could have been in the emergency room fighting for his life from whatever poison/chemicals and bacteria from the spit the waitress put on his food and drink
To black couple or black families be aware of these "nice" waitress that be playing nice to hide their dislike for your very own existence. I don't recommend this place specifically if you're of color. While that may not be the situation for all their locations, this "very nice" waitress is the face for this one location.
P.S - I order the spicy chicken wings and I asked the waitress"is the chicken grown with hormones?"she kneels down and says "oh no ours are from local farmers and are organic" ... the chicken legs were huge with extra fat and the bones was small not sure if she lied but the chicken wings looked packed...

We arrived at 11am on November 10, 2024 and sat in the first or second booth on the left. The waitress was very nice and attentive.
This was our first time and we both decided upon the diner burger, which was good. I also had the truffle fries, while my husband had the regular fries. Overall, we liked the food and figured we would be back.
At the end of the meal, the ticket was brought out. We are used to using tap to pay everywhere we go; however, here, the waitress took our alternate debit/credit card and headed to the back part of the restaurant where we could not see her. Honestly, we didn't think very much about it, as she was so nice during our meal.
That night, 11/10/2024, a couple of very small charges (both less than $1-$2) popped up on our bank statement online. I must preface things and say my husband checks our bank statement every single day of the week. He is meticulous ~ down to the penny, as fraud is so prevalent. Again, we only use tap to pay everywhere we go and never let our cards get out of our sight.
On the night of 11/13/2024, a larger charge for almost $200 was showing on our online bank statement to a business we never heard of or have been to. My husband immediately called Wells Fargo and in their investigation, said that whomever charged this, entered our card information manually. Obviously, the card was cancelled and they will be sending us a new one.
I am not one to accuse, but it is evident the waitress took our debit card information at Zinburger, as we never allow that card to be out of our site. In fact, this is the first time the entire year that a server took our card away from us where we could not see it.
My husband called the restaurant and spoke to a manager on 11/14/2024. The manager was very nice and said he would speak to the others on the leadership team. That was it. He never requested my husband's contact information other than the approximate day/time we were at the restaurant. If one was to look into what might have happened, you would think they would care enough to get the contact information to get back to us with an update.
So, long story short, be careful when using your credit card at Zinburger, as you truly never know when it...
Read moreWe have been to this restaurant two times. Our experiences were night and day. The first dinner was a week ago on May 30, our server was attentive and really friendly. She was the reason we decided to come back before we left for home. We just left from our second dinner and it was terrible. I think it's important to explain it wasn't busy. After we were seated two other groups were seated and quickly their waters were given and orders taken with our group left in the heat without any server contact and no water. I had to go on and explain this to the hostess. A server came out to give two of the three in our group water. I joked that with the way it was going tonight that would forget about our friend's water...which they did. The manager came to apologize and I had to mention it to her. She did try to make it better by comping our appetizers, but I'm assuming that she thought it would get better...it didn't. We didn't get napkins and utensils with our food. Our food was good, but it was hard to enjoy it when there was a table behind us with a dog that barked and attempted to lunge and attack anyone who walked by. Everyone outside kept looking worried due to the dog's behaviour and I had complained that I thought that dog was dangerous. The fact that nothing was done was really irresponsible. It kept trying to attack their server. Our server forgot about charging our credit card, we were waiting and waiting then when we all locked eyes on her it clearly reminded her that she was supposed to run our card for our bill because she immediately turned and left the drinks she was carrying on a table near the hostess stand. About five minutes later she emerged with that tray of drinks and our credit card papers for signing.
I would say that it was my worst dining experience, but my husband reminded me of one distinctly terrible experience that will remain the worst.
This review has five stars from that first night, the second experience has...
