My experience tonight was horribly dampened by this argument that I heard at the table next to me between some folks at the table and their server. The music was loud but I could hear the entirety of the dispute.
One of the people at the table next to us had forgotten her ID even though she said she was 24. She had taken a sip out of the alcohol that her buddy had purchased and the server noticed. He approached the table and rudely stated that he saw what she had done and was confiscating the alcohol and said that he would be closing the table out no questions asked...
He then returned to the table and dropped the check off. However, he didn't split the check. They hadn't told him to, but when they requested it, he told them that they had to mark on the check what each person was going to pay instead of figuring it out himself (be it as I have worked in the food service business for many years, hearing this was quite an insult to the customer). He returned to the table and I happened to glance over at the exchange when he threw the pen at the customers who were not causing any problems as they were simply going to close out...
When he took the check, he processed it and returned when a gentleman sitting right behind me at that table who asked why it was necessary for him to cause the commotion that he started. This young man stated nothing except that he was displeased with the service. The server then told him to "get up and please leave" immediately. I was appalled. This boy had done nothing except express his displeasure.
The kid then asked to speak to a manager, but the server told him that he was the manager...bs, if you ask me. There is no way in the world that this young punk would be managing anything based on his behavior. This guy had no class and was acting like some stuck up jerk. He then proceeded to escort the whole party to the door and threw them out.
I have never seen such poor customer service in my life. I, personally, will never be visiting Via Tribunali again. I cannot, in good conscience, spend my money here knowing what I saw occur last night. Shame on the server who was...
Read moreso. here we go. apologies for the adhd review. big feelings. i was with my person to go and try new things/restaurants in Seattle during one of our many night adventures. originally planned to go to a nearby spot, but it was very full, and we were hoping for a more casual atmosphere. enter Via Trunali. the gorgeous atmosphere siren-sung us through the door(!) atmosphere for days. gorgeous dark woods and brick. truly a lovely place to view while eating. we ordered a pizza and a couple of salads, including a caeser, and a charcuterie board. here's where it gets fun. the caeser.. how do I explain this(?) they literally just lincoln-logged romain leaves on a plate, cut slices of parmesan and laid that criss-cross over the romain as if either A.) you'd described how to make a romain salad to someone who had never understood or heard the CONCEPT of a salad before, or B.) i needed to search the room for the practical joke camera. several cut sardines and a bit of caeser dressing adorned.. whatever this was. we both had a good laugh at that, and I ate it with my hands cause even if i wanted to, a fork and knife provided by the restaurant wouldn't and didn't cut it (excuse the pun). and the bar stools.. the ratio to proportional height of the gorgeous old-wood bar with relation to you, the guest, was as if you'd been brought back to the child's table at a family friend's Thanksgiving dinner. to drive the point home, the edge of the entire bar has a rather large wooden bumper. this combined with the stools height(s) just led to a weird/uncomfortable eating experience. charcuterie board was fine. pizza.. hmm. for the price, and the fact that it was coming out of an actual pizza oven I just.. it took so long to come out, and more than 3 other people's pizzas were ordered and came out before ours. I think the bartender forgot about our food, and then scrambled to get it going. been there buddy, but lame. pizza was just.. meh. nothing to write home about. all in total we spent about $150 for food that just.. anyways....
Read moreOkay pizza that's not as authentic as they would like you to think, pretentious staff that thinks they know better than you, and a chic (I can't see three feet in front of my face) atmosphere. The pizza is not bad, but I have been to Naples several times and eaten lots of pizza and the pies here are just "ok" and reasonably authentic. The inside of the building looks nice with the brick facade but is entirely too dark, especially the toilet. Note to management - put better lighting in the toilet so you don't have patrons peeing all over the place and making a mess. I can't speak about all the staff but the waiter that served me had a pretentious air about him and was unreasonably rude. I asked about happy hour and then asked what beers they had on draft. Normally, any decent waiter would tell me what is covered under happy hour and then the rest to let me choose. After he brought the beer I choose, I asked him if it was a happy hour beer and he said no, to which I replied, "Of course not..." His response, "But it's worth it, it's Peroni." I think I will decide what is worth my hard earned dollars, thanks. And btw, there are many beers I would deem worth $6+ and although Peroni is a good beer, it's not one of them. Needless to say, I will NEVER return here and I would caution others to do the same, unless you like extremely over priced, mediocre pizza in a pretentious...
