We just moved to the Seattle area and found Better Meat in a Google search. Ordered a prime rib roast for Christmas Eve dinner on the phone. Very helpful and offered to remove bones, truss and preseason. When I got there to pick up, there were butchers in their coats out front with a few people waiting. One of them asked for my name, I gave my last name (very unique) and he looked at me and said, āOh yeah! Firstname, I did it this morningā. He only took a few minutes, but by then we had organized the building line down the block. I tapped my credit card to their new, non contact charge machine and was on my way. So very pleased! The roast was wrapped in paper, then sealed in plastic, then in butcher paper. The marbling of fat was excellent. Using the 500 F for 25 minutes and hold 2 hours method, the roast was perfect. I expressed to the kid working that I needed soup bones for stock and he said yes and promptly went to fill a bag of stock bones or so I thought. While he was retrieving the bones I had a conversation about how I get lamb shoulder for good prices and other small talk quickly paid and was off. When I got home I realized I had paid $23 and some change for very clean bones that looked like they were cut and prepared for the marrow? Wow I could have got more Joint, Meaty, Soup bones from Safeway for about $5 and there would be more weight and flavor since it is for soup. Great place but something isn't working out here. Too bad too because good suet, bones, lamb is needed in this hood but not for the crazy prices these people charge.. Again very nice people but bad...

Came in on literally Valentineās Day to get a couple steaks to make for my newly wed wife - we were recreating a Valentineās Day from 11 years ago. They helped me pick two perfect, fresh cut NY steaks (almost got me with the bacon wrapped filet mignon) and gave me advice on how to properly make it start to finish. Itās not like we havenāt tried a decade of recipes since that dinnerā¦definitely one of the best meals we have shared together thanks to them. Thanks again you guys, canāt wait...
