Bocz Salon — Local services in Seattle

Reflective listening to the client is just as important as talent, and Sam has both in spades! My previous stylist of 8+ years opened her new salon too far away and I needed to find someone new. Cue the nerves. I called Bocz after googling “best haircuts in downtown Seattle.” They fit me in that day with Sam. Not only had I had the same stylist for so many years, a guy had never cut my hair. Cue more nerves. But I was assured Sam was great.

Another reviewer referenced the staff as being down-to-earth. Yep! Very much so. Friendly, explain the changing robe/room situation to first-timers, and all-around helpful. The salon itself is bustling, but the chairs are separated out by little cube-like things. It’s in a beautiful vintage building on Sixth Avenue. I love it when places are equal parts upscale and down-to-earth.

Love. My. Haircut. Sam took an hour-plus to listen, explain, and do a fabulous job. I don’t imagine it will take that long for future cuts, but it was obvious he was taking extra time and care to make sure I left happy. Super impressed, and grateful to find a new stylist 4-minutes’ walking distance...

I've been coming to Bocz for years, and am always thrilled with the service. The new location is also gorgeous! Every single staff member there is kind, down - to - earth, eager to help, friendly, chatty, and personable. The cuts and coloring are second to none and Aldera (my personal savior) will wax you dolphin smooth. Don't be fooled by other waxing places - many will break the hair or burn the skin. Aldera doesn't. She's the best. Sure, Bocz isn't the cheapest haircut or wax job in the city, but with very good reason. You get what you pay for! I haven't been to their website in a while, but I believe the stylists' rates are based on their years of experience. I've been loyal to Megan for years, and she's amazing!! Once when she was out of town, I had Moyra cut my hair, and she was also fantastic. Every person I've talked to there has been professional and welcoming. Can't praise them enough. I felt completely taken advantage of by Meg. I was told over the phone the trim and highlights I described I wanted were around 120. I also specifically showed Meg pictures of what I wanted. She ended up doing something that was completely different than what I asked for (balayage) and charged me 210$ for it. I requested a few peek-a-boo highlights and a trim. Although I ended up feeing okay about the hair, I was shocked at how much i was charged...for something I did not ask for. I think because I'm 17 she though that she could take advantage of me. I'm super disappointed at how I was taken for a ride and I will definitely not be returning. It's sad because I had such high hopes for this salon but walked out feeling completely robbed. I may be in high school but I know how much a subpar haircut should be. Anyone that takes advantage of a young girl should honestly not be working here....
