I recently had the pleasure of dining at Local in Seattle, and I cannot rave enough about the incredible experience I had! From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted with warmth and a vibrant atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable evening. Let's start with the star of the show – the food! Local eatery boasts an extraordinary menu that caters to all taste buds. Every dish I tried was an absolute delight, bursting with flavor and crafted with utmost care. The attention to detail in the presentation was impeccable, and it truly showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs. The beer Mosas deserve a special mention as well. These innovative concoctions were a delightful twist on the classic mimosa. The combination of a crisp and refreshing beer with the zesty, fruity notes of a traditional mimosa was a match made in heaven. It's the perfect beverage to sip and savor while enjoying the fantastic cuisine. Now, let's talk about the Wagyu hotdog. Oh my goodness, it was a revelation! Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, this gourmet take on a classic favorite left me craving for more. The Wagyu beef was incredibly tender, and the accompanying toppings and condiments elevated the hotdog to a whole new level. It's an absolute must-try for any hotdog enthusiast. Beyond the delectable food and refreshing drinks, the vibe of the restaurant itself was enchanting. The ambiance was cozy yet chic, with stylish decor and comfortable seating. The staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making me feel welcomed and ensuring my dining experience was flawless. Whether you're looking for a memorable dinner with friends, a romantic date night, or a place to unwind and enjoy great food and drinks, Local is the perfect choice. I highly recommend this gem in Seattle to anyone who appreciates exceptional cuisine, innovative drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Thank you, Local, for an unforgettable dining experience. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in your culinary delights!

Go to this Seattle restaurant if you DON'T want service. We couldn't even review the food or atmosphere because we were so ignored that we never experienced either. On a slow Friday afternoon, our family went to Local to have an early dinner. Instead we were treated with such disrespect. We waited 20 minutes for our server to acknowledge us (which she NEVER did), while at the table next to us she constantly waited hand and foot on a group of young men who were drinking. We assume that her smiling and giggling while constantly checking on them was to earn the tips that often come from people who get served lots of alcohol from a giggling waitress. She literally did not even turn to look at us even though we were her table and directly next to the drinking men. Her lack of attention was exacerbated by the fact that we were hungry and had hungry children with us (although we were all sitting quietly while we waited for her to even notice us). Finally, after 20 minutes we asked the hostess about our situation. The server then made poor excuses about how she was "just" coming to check on us. "Just"...after 20 minutes at a fairly empty restaurant. On their website their byline includes this phrase "we strive to never skip a beat with service". Don't believe them, unless you are young men who are drinking lots of alcohol and getting attention from a young, female server.

Unexpected late night discovery in a very casual but hip vibey atmosphere. Watched the bartender Chris P give a masterclass in hospitality and service even in the midst of the slower late night and very casual environment. From the first impressions by the manager McKenna who greeted me at the door to the warm getting by Chris P at the bar, the sincere professional hospitality never ceased. Chris P was aware of potential needs but not intrusive. He had great recommendations and seemed to have genuine investment in ensuring I had the best experience possible. Having considered LOCAL multiple times but never visiting before, Chris P was kind enough to answer my questions about the company depicting a clearly positive culture where I am happy to spend my money moving forward. I am already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring colleagues and my spouse. I should mention the open kitchen provided some global-driven diahes with a few keenly asian-inspired menu offerings, but the overall presentation was approachable to many cultures and appeasing to the basic American pallets desires. Come try the space out and enjoy a couple different spaces with alternate experiences and vibes from bar to dining room.

Terrible Experience - Rude Service and Unwelcoming Atmosphere

I recently visited LOCAL Public Eatery with a group of friends after work on a Friday, hoping to enjoy their happy hour. However, the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I feel compelled to share my negative experience and warn others about the poor service we received.

Firstly, upon entering the restaurant through what we assumed was a main entrance, we were met with a confusing seating arrangement. The long tables gave the impression of open seating, with different groups already seated at each end. We sat down, only to be confronted by a waitress who approached us with a considerable amount of attitude when taking our orders. Her dismissive demeanor and lack of hospitality were immediately off-putting.

As I was only interested in grabbing a drink, I proceeded to the bar. When I politely informed the waitress that she needn't take my order as I would be solely getting a drink, her response was unexpectedly rude. She seemed genuinely perplexed by my simple request and made me feel unwelcome for wanting to utilize the bar area, despite observing other patrons freely moving between the bar and tables. It was clear that she lacked the basic understanding that some customers might prefer a different seating arrangement or have limited time to spend in the restaurant.

Later, when I returned to inquire about pulling up chairs for some coworkers who were at the bar, the waitress's tone became even more abrasive. She condescendingly informed me that pulling up chairs was not allowed and pointed to a small paper sign near a different entrance that we had not used. Instead of providing clear instructions or kindly explaining the restaurant's policy, she treated us with disdain, as if we were unwelcome intruders. This kind of behavior created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere, causing our entire group to reconsider our decision to stay.

It is worth noting that I worked as a waitress myself for three years and understand the challenges of managing large groups. However, I firmly believe that the responsibility lies with the restaurant staff to communicate their policies clearly and courteously. It was disheartening to see how poorly we were treated, especially considering that half of our group were international visitors unfamiliar with the establishment and the local customs.

The unpleasant encounters continued with the male server who assisted with our table. His attitude mirrored that of the waitress, and their collective demeanor made us feel like unwanted guests. It is disheartening when staff members, who should strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, instead choose to treat customers with disdain and hostility.

Overall, the lack of communication, the rude behavior, and the unwelcoming atmosphere at LOCAL Public Eatery left a lasting negative impression on all of us. A simple apology and an explanation of the seating policy would have sufficed, and we would have happily complied or taken our business elsewhere. Unfortunately, our experience only reinforced the negative stereotype of Seattle locals being unfriendly and unwelcoming.

I would strongly advise potential patrons to think twice before visiting LOCAL Public Eatery, as the poor service and disrespectful treatment we encountered overshadowed any positive aspects...

This restaurant was absolutely disrespectful, unprofessional, and felt very discriminatory in their behavior and lack of service. My party of 5 that I was apart of was sat in the corner booth at approximately 10:58 a.m. on June 27, 2021. I was very excited and pleased that we would be sitting in what is the hostess’s “favorite booth in the establishment”. However, her praise of that booth and location was poorly represented. The one and ONLY interaction we had with a staff member during our 35 minute visit was with the hostess as we were sat. Our party sat there patiently waiting to be acknowledged and NEVER had any server address us, acknowledge our existence, or even bring us water. We watched as the server made eye contact with us and turned away. We watched them sit two other tables and even bring food to one 20 minutes after we were initially sat. At that point we had a member of our party call the front of house phone, explain that we were sitting inside of the restaurant for over 20 minutes without any acknowledgement, and the hostess even commented, “oh, you’re at the booth in the corner, right?” We hoped that phone call would encourage the staff to address us, we were wrong. We watched them sit the table directly next to us, and then had the server ignore us and go to take their orders at minute 35 of our pathetic visit. At that point, we all got up and left our table. As we left, the hostess gave an embarrassing excuse as she shrugged her shoulders and said, “I don’t know what happened.” This whole experience was disappointing, disrespectful, and truly an act of gross negligence. We were led to feel that the Caucasian members in the section we sat in were seen as more important than us POC. I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone, ever. They need to do...
