Let me preface this review by saying that I have been getting my nails done for about a decade or so. Iām a chronic nail biter and the only thing that stops it is having a fresh set of acrylic nails. As you can imagine, Iāve been to many nail salons. My biggest gripe with most nail salons is that theyāre typically prone to a turn and burn business model-trying to get as many customers in a day as possible. I understand the hustle, however usually this means results may vary- uneven or inconsistent nail lengths, messy looking polish spots around the cuticle, smudged polish, dry skin left around the nail, and my least favorite thing, injuries from the implements they use.
Itās near impossible to find someone who takes their time to perfect the set, can do fun nail designs, as well as take care not to injure you!
But Annie at Helen- Nail Art does all of that. Truly her work has been my most favorite sets of acrylic nails Iāve ever received and itās no wonder why. She spends about an hour or more per set and is a true perfectionist who is also very sweet and easy to talk to. So glad I found her.
The location of her salon is also super convenient to boot. I typically drive in and thereās free secure parking in the garage, as well as a grocery store next door, which makes for running errands a much easier task. Canāt recommend Annie at Helen enough! I almost donāt want to so that she doesnāt become too busy for me to get in with her for an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down the BEST dip nail job I've ever gotten!! I was about to go on vacation and got a simple dip powder, just a natural single color. But let me tell you, Annie's attention to detail is š¤ I had told her my cuticles were sensitive and she got them cleaned up perfectly with no pain. The way she applied the coats and powder was seamless right up to my cuticle, and she meticulously filed repeatedly so I didn't end up with the dreaded lumpy nail bumps that can happen with the layers of dip powder.
The end product was a super clean, glowing job and the dip layer on my nail was nearly like my actual nail (but still enough to be long-lasting and durable)! Literal perfection.
Throughout my appt, Annie was lovely and kind, checked in with me at multiple points to make sure I was satisfied with the cut, shape, color, comfort, and her studio is clean and super cute.
Y'all, if you're looking at this place and hesitating because it's new and doesn't have hundreds of reviews yet, book an appt ASAP!! I've never had more confidence in giving a recommendation, Annie knows her craft and is wonderful! Would highly recommend and will be coming back for all nail needs + art in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAnnie ruined my nails. She shaved my nails down PAPER thin. Ive never had this happen. Not even in my previous bookings with her. I went to get acrylics removed and dip/gel on my natural nails. Id made the appointment accordingly. Somewhere she heard that I wanted acrylics or just didn't care and shaved my nails down rice paper thin. I could bend my 1 inch nail backward without it breaking. Im not sure why that ever needs to happen for nail services. She shaved both the surface and the tip painfully thin. Not neatly either. Like snaggletooth looking. It was very weird that she chose to do it. It almost seemed on purpose.. she slapped the acrylic on top of that...When I eventually removed the acrylics my nails were absolutely ruined. Even after I cut them down all the way they were so thin that I couldnt use hot water or they would hurt. I cried after leaving, that sucked. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I should not have. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF IF SHE DOES THIS TO YOU! Just walk out. Don't try to be nice when someone does something...
