I visited this salon for the first time on June 5 and had my hair done by a designer stylist, Tayler. I booked a bleach and tone retouch service with a trim and K18 which ended up costing me over $700 with tip. I am super disappointed and upset with how my hair turned out and the experience I had in this salon.
I sent photos of my hair before my appointment to ensure I was booking the proper service. During the appointment, I let my stylist know my hair usually takes almost an hour to lift but she assured me it was fine and she knew what she was doing. After washing out the bleach and toning it, she started to blow dry it and said there was a very small spot at the back of my head that the toner didn't take to. She retoned the whole back half of my head and then again said it didn't work, so she toned it for a third time. After the third time, she spoke to another employee and then told me the reason it didn't lift was because of the K18 she had used on my hair but that after the third time, it had worked and toned properly. After looking in the mirror, I didn't see an issue, so I paid and left.
Later on after I had washed my hair three times, I guess whatever toner she used finally washed out and I was able to see that my roots were not been properly lifted and there was a large band across most of my hair, not just a small part as she had mentioned. I reached out to my usual stylist back home, as I'm currently travelling, and she explained that K18 actually helps the toner take more evenly and would not have caused this. My hair was actually not properly lifted and was much more damaged as it had been toned three times after already bleaching it.
I reached out to the salon and provided multiple photos and explained the situation. I had lost my trust in this salon and did not feel comfortable returning to have it fixed. Not only that, but I did not feel my hair was strong enough to have it bleached again so soon as it is now extremely damaged. They offered to fix it and provide me with free products but by the time my hair would be strong enough to go back, I would no longer be in the country. After some back and forth, the owner said I could come in for a damage test to see if I qualified for a refund. As I had moved two hours away, I offered a day that I would already be in the city and could stop by before another appointment for the damage test. The owner responded by saying that 'we are unable to reach a mutually acceptable resolution at this time,' refunded me the amount I tipped my stylist and wished me the best with my future endeavors.
This whole situation has left me feeling sad and frustrated. I paid the most I've ever paid to get my hair done at $737.51 and thought the quality, knowledge and customer service would reflect the price. However I'm disappointed to say that it did not. If you are planning to book a bleach and tone at this salon, I suggest maybe looking elsewhere as this was probably the worst experience I've ever had...
Read moreThis salon is unprofessional and lacking customer service. I am new to the Seattle area and after researching numerous salons, I decided to try Industry Salon. I went in for a hair extension consultation with Ashlie. BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT, I told Ashlie I had hair extensions before and I wanted to use Bellami hair. She did not advise that the they did not have the Bellami swatches in their salon when I went to choose a color. What? That is the entire purpose of choosing a color - to see the hair you are purchasing in person. I had look at another brand and she guessed what colors would work from Bellami. This was probably the first sign I should have taken my business elsewhere. I chose colors based off another brand and felt uncomfortable doing so. She knew this! She should have informed me that they didn't have the color swatches for the brand I had specifically requested and changed my appointment to after they had the proper swatches in their salon. But she let me purchase the 3 packs of unseen colors anyway which is ridiculous. Feeling uncomfortable, I reached out to Ashlie and I went back a second time after they had the Bellami swatches in their salon - annoying that I had to go back again because they could not advise they didn't have the proper swatches. I showed Ashlie numerous photos and explained what I was looking to achieve. She let me purchase 3 packs of hair and never said anything about 3 packs not being enough. She even advised we could possibly return the 3rd pack. My appointment to get the hair installed was Tuesday. It looked awful. The colors didn't blend (she suggested toning the extensions which I was against and told her that during my second color swatch appointment - you are not supposed to do much to the extension hair, something the owner herself agreed with) and 3 packages was not enough for what I wanted to achieve. TELL ME THIS BEFORE LETTING ME BUY HAIR AND SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS WITH YOU. She is the professional and should have said 3 packages won't achieve what you are wanting. I was in tears during my appointment and I'm not a crier! The owner came over but did not tell me she was the owner at the time, which I found to be odd. She talked in circles and said more than once I would have needed 5-6 packs of hair. She also said we would not want to color/tone the extensions. WHY DID THE PROFESSIONAL STYLIST LET ME PURCHASE 3 PACKS? WHY DID THE PROFESSIONAL STYLIST SUGGEST TONING THE HAIR EXTENSIONS? I had everything removed and left with the salon not refunding me for the 2 packs of hair I bought that I did not use. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.
Edited to add - the stylist absolutely did not say I needed to buy more...
Read moreI am bewildered by just how terrible my experience at this salon was. I have a difficult time believing that these stylists have any official credentials. Even when speaking to others about my experience, others almost cannot even believe my experience and how I left the salon. My first visit I went in for a root touch up and wanted some layers added. After spending 2 hours and $200, I left with my roots looking the EXACT same. The stylist informed me AFTER she had already “colored” my dark brown, almost black hair, that she had used semi-permanent dye. My dyed hair is multiple shades lighter than my natural roots, and I cannot fathom why a stylist would choose to match a lighter color with semi-permanent dye, or even why semi-permanent dye is used at all at a professional salon, especially without consultation? I come to get my hair done and it should last until I need a touch up, not for just a few washes, even though it didn’t make a difference either way. She also cut(with a straight razor) some choppy face framing layers into my otherwise blunt, straight across hair. When I asked for a refund, they said they only offer complimentary “adjustments,” and had the nerve to suggest I return to the same stylist. After pushing back a bit I booked an appointment with their senior stylist. While she did blend the layers a bit more, she left the back completely blunt, and told me the V shape cut(something I could do myself if I had the arm length) I asked for would just not be possible? She then began asking me my opinion of how I thought my root touch up should be completed, while completely dismissing the fact that I had been there a week before to get my roots done and showed up with them still extremely dark. She then brought swatches over to match my color, and informed me that they probably couldn’t match it perfectly, and I would have to return YET AGAIN for a shadow root?? I didn’t come in for a shadow root, I came in to have my roots MATCHED! Every other salon I have been to I have sat down in the chair, they look at my hair and go mix up my color, and I leave with perfectly matched here. No, this time, I left with LIGHTER ROOTS. I was hoping and praying that it was just the salon lighting, but, yet again, when I returned home from Industry I looked in the mirror and cried. I do not understand how these stylists can possibly let a client leave with heir looking how mine was BOTH TIMES, and not acknowledge how terrible it is or offer any form of compensation. Please, please do not visit this salon, they should not be operating with this kind of service. I cannot believe I paid $200 to have to waste my time twice, walk out with god awful hair, and then be...
