Seattle offers its fair share of excellent Asian restaurants. Whether you're craving Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, or Laotian, this city offers a very diverse selection. So when I looked up for Thai restaurants with respectable Yelp reviews, "Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar" came up. Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle and directly on E. Broadway, this very popular restaurant is located directly in between E. Republican St. and E. Harrison St. And considering this place has been going strong since 2010, there's a reason why customers keep coming back here.

One of which is their variety. They serve a ton of food on their menu. Which may or may not necessarily be a good thing. Here you will find your basic Thai dishes but also a very impressive sushi menu. Everything from classic Maki rolls (classic, veggie, & signature), Omakase (Nigiri or Sashimi), and other Japanese items including Teriyaki, Gyoka, Tataki, and Tempura. Finally, they have a nice assortment of soups, salads, pan fried noodles, fried rice, curries, and Wok Fares. The hours of operation are very respectable as they are open seven days a week from 11:30am to 9:30pm while being closed in between 3:00pm to 4:30pm during the week. And finally, they also have a Happy Hour that rolls out from 4:30pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.

As far as the layout of this place, it is a bit on the smaller side so don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting for a table. However, this place does have a very modern, sleek look as well as being very cozy. During my visit, I arrived around 7:45pm during my visit as myself and my +1 were immediately seated. As far as what we ordered, I went with the "Pad See Eiw" with chicken as my protein of choice. This dish offers wide flat rice noodles stir-fried with eggs, carrots and broccoli in sweet soy sauce. My +1 went with their "Chicken Teriyaki" which was served with their signature house salad. Both our meals arrived within 10 minutes.

The overall flavor, consistency, and value was definitely above average as this place serves very hearty portions and will definitely fill you up. Our waitress always made sure our iced waters were refilled which being very polite from the time we were seated until we left. If you're looking for that true Thai experience, I would suggest a few other popular restaurants such as "Buddha Ruska" or "Noi Thai Cuisine". But for a decent meal that offers a nice mix of Thai and sushi, I would definitely give "Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar" a try. My...

We've been here several times and loved both their curries and sushi. Their servers are always incredibly nice and attentive. My only word of warning: they don't kid around with their spice levels - 3/5 is a pretty solid spice, not weak like a lot of other places. The panang curry is to die for.

We had a very unfortunate experience with delivery via GrubHub, but Pinto went incredibly out of their way to make it up to us. Long story short, we waited 90 minutes for food that never arrived and no notification, and when we phoned Pinto they notified us that we were out of their delivery area and GrubHub shouldn't had allowed it. We complained to both Pinto and GrubHub, as we went to bed without dinner after a 90-minute wait and were quite upset. The difference is that GrubHub tried to pretend it wasn't their fault, they tried to contact us, etc. but the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and we left even angrier.

Pinto, in comparison, were incredibly apologetic and went out of their way to make it up to us. We received a personal phone call from Opal, the owner, (on the day of Pride when they were incredibly busy, no less) to apologize and offer to provide our order on the house via delivery at a later date. We found this to be an incredibly nice and touching gesture, one that you wouldn't get from any other restaurant. The girl on the phone when we called even recognized our name and address and said the owner had spoken to all of the staff about our experience. This really proves to me that they care about customer experience, and shows to me that it was GrubHub's fault all along, as they barely pretended to care.

In short: great food and great service. Despite our anger at the mishap, they went over and beyond to make us feel like valued customers. Pinto definitely deserves your business and the food will...

I love it! I love to go for the H.H. and we even do take out a lot! It is clean and presented very lovely. They're a favorite on the hill. My go to cannot go wrong with freshness and flavor! I cannot say enough about having a tasty reliable nearby Thai and sushi restaurant on Capitol hill! Go here!!!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! No longer Pinto just turn key same name establishment. I don't understand how you mess up thai rice so badly with such a small portion for curry. We also got noodles as part of another dish that were so sad and tiny mashed up portion on bottom of take out box. The chicken was shredded up in the curry and dry. We're so sad because we used to love this place! We feel tricked and it was super pricey for the low low quality. They also offered a free Thai iced tea is you spent over $50.00 didn't get. It's just sad 😢 Warning ⚠️ not...

I came with a group on a university funded trip, and got the pad Thai as well as the mango boba. I deeply enjoyed these and would highly recommend this place. Service was also very good, and the staff was very quickly responsive regardless of how large of a group was present. The food was pretty good, not my favorite Pad Thai but I enjoyed it. My only complaints is that the area itself is very cramped, and there is a bright light that shined in my eyes consistently. Regardless, I deeply enjoyed the experience, and I recommended to anyone in town. I should disclose that I was offered a complimentary drink for posting a review with a photo, although there was no requirements for the content of this review, and it did not consciously affect my rating.

The experience was pleasant, and the food appearance was quite good. However, the sushi rolls/maki were not as flavorful as I'd have expected at this price point. There also was some language barrier communicating with the server at several points. Will likely not be back and would try a dedicated sushi/Japanese restaurant in the future.
