Panache Clothing — Local services in Seattle

Be VERY cautious when shopping at Panache on Broadway! I bought a pair of their wedges last night shortly before going out. I wore them out with a friend to a bar; wearing them in total of about four hours with a few side-stops along the way. By the time I got home the heels were almost completely torn off of the body of the shoes. I went to take them back today and calmly explained that I understood their type of store and their no return policy (people would be returning costume jewelry right and left). But I pointed out the obvious fact that the product that they were selling was DEFECTIVE, and that an exception needed to be made. They would not budge on their policy. Finally the manager came out and told me that I could, "keep the shoes along with the in-store credit" and that, "I could take them to the shoe repair down the street". When he saw on my face that was not the outcome I had wanted he said, "queen, don't complain we're giving you free shoes". ... In my head I was like, 'Don't complain? You sold me utter TRASH and then told me to go on my own dime to fix it!' I was too tired to complain further and left with these broken shoes and my credit. They have a decent selection of costume wear, but they are kind of lazy. I called this morning to check on a pair of shoes I had special ordered over a month and a half ago, at the time the guy told me to check back in if I didn’t hear back after a couple of weeks. The girl this morning was so dismissive, didn’t even take my name or even try to look into it, just said “ sorry if you didn’t hear from us then we didn’t get anything” when I told her that I was instructed to call back and check she said “we haven’t gotten any shoes recently”. I would hope for a higher level of customer service, I mean, it honestly doesn’t take that much effort to check my special order and make sure it didn’t get forgotten about, which it obviously has been. I love this store ... been coming here for almost 2 years now for platforms and accessories but we really didn’t appreciate the attitude from one of the staff we got today. I’m not sure if he (or they, don’t want to use wrong pronoun) is new as this was our first interaction with this person but asking a customer if 1. They are high and 2. If they are (and I quote) “here to shop or here to play dress up?” is unprofessional. I decided to come back to try stuff some other day instead.
