UPDATE: Within minutes of posting this "Trendy" Wendy found my IG and liked photos that included my face and my dog. That's fine; it's public. However, I can only surmise that she did this to send a not-so-subtle message that she can "find me." Evidentlty, her decades-long reputation of being awful is true and well-earned.
My review: Against my better judgement I popped in looking for a theme outfit. My service dog was with me, as he legally always is. I asked the woman at the counter if she could point something out for me. (For correlary and descriptive purposes ONLY: she's the older Asian woman.) She abruptly asked about my dog. I explained he's my service dog. She continued by asking by asking questions she is not legally permitted to ask and then asked me to leave. To LEAVE?! Again, illegal. She's dreadful.
They should save face and quietly shut their doors before someone does it for them.
ADDENDUM: "Trendy" Wendy replied: "Iām 50 if you consider that elderly but ok." Only 50? Ah, I see. I am 50, also. I'm sorry that life has been hard on you.
"...if a question I ask is not getting answered and the person gets hostile, then it is my personal property, I will ask anyone to leave." You asked quesstions you are not permitted to ask. Further, I answered your questions without hesitation or hostility.
"...our clearly posted signs saying ONLY marked services dogs..." According to WA State Law, service animals are not required to wear markings.
"It had also just started heavily hailing on the hill..." Rain has nothing to do with applying the law.
"...a business has the right to protect and set standards." You are a business open to the public and as such you cannot withhold service to a protected class on your whims, ignorant of actual laws. You must extend service equally to all persons, regardless of disability.
"...to be identifying people by age where you go..." As I stated, it was a neutral phrase to describe the individual responsible for the infraction. Evidently, it surfaced you as the person responsible and by responding you admited to it. Thank you for your cooperation.
"Trendy" Wendy, please take a moment to review ADA laws. From your statemets you admit to being ignorant of these laws and I'd hate for you to be found out to be denying service to disabled folks for unlawful reasons and be fined or shut down. Really. I'd hate it.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Trendy Wendy left me really dissatisfied. Iāve shopped here before whether itās for drag or festival clothing, and I I have never had issues, but not this time. I spent nearly $100 on a Halloween costume, anticipating a product of reasonable quality given the premium price. Unfortunately, the costume began to quite literally tear at the seams within just a couple of hours of trying it on.
Living just across the street, I decided to promptly address the issue with the owner. They offered to sew the costume back together while I was wearing it, a solution that unfortunately did not hold up, as the costume continued to fall apart in multiple places shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, at that point I could not return that night as they were closed. When I was able to return to the store four days later due to my work schedule, the owner cited a 'final sale' policy, placing the blame on me for not contacting her sooner and refusing any form of refund, exchange, or partial store credit.
I find this situation saddening, given my previous great experiences, the price point of the product and my efforts to resolve the issue as quickly as I could. I would love to go back because they do have a great selection and itās convenient but this is really hard to get over, as Iām out $100 for a faulty product.
3/5 stars for initially attempting to fix the issue, but I'm still irritated that the owner claims to not sell faulty product in other reviews, while Iām still stuck with unwearable product of no fault of my own. Wearing something should not mean it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was just in this store 11/26/22 @5pm full intention to purchase a couple items I seen. I asked the woman at the register if she had a top in XL and she proceeded to tell me no I donāt and that wonāt fit you, nothing in here will fit you. I thought maybe she didnāt mean it that way then she proceeded to repeat herself very tonal and intense to get her point across. My friends commented wow I feel like weāre in pretty woman right now. Iām just confused I thought we were size inclusivity and everyoneās welcome. Honestly everything bothered me but the fact that you had 2xl-3xl in store and still felt the need to say that to me is incredibly rude. Iām 5ā5 200 pounds I wear XL and size 14 Iām big but Iām not overly big so I was pretty taken aback. Here I was trying to support a small business and treated like garbage water. Her last comment was what weāre drinking and where weāre going weāre completely sober. So work on your people skills honestly thankfully Iām solid in my...
