YOUR PACKAGES WILL BE STOLEN AND MANAGEMENT WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT.
I have had three packages now get stolen within an hour of arriving. Management wonāt put in a camera because they donāt want liability. They installed a package locker, but make no attempt to tell carriers about it/make carriers actually use it so it makes no difference. I ran into the UPS guy today to ask about a package and he had no idea there even was a package locker.
They just want to make money off of you, and it shows. If you read the move out letter, they charge ridiculous amounts of money for any ādamageā in the apartment. They leave themselves a lot of room to determine what this is. For example, thereās an undisclosed fee for ālarge itemsā left in the apartment. They charge $25 for each trash bag of personal stuff thatās left in the apartment, but that bag could be nearly empty, and youād have no way of doing anything about it because youāre not allowed to be there or re-enter the apartment during or after the inspection. The least they could do is take pictures as evidence or something. Theyāve essentially written themselves a blank check.
Also of note is that I moved back home for several months during the pandemic, and was still charged between $55 and $70 a month for utilities, despite not even living here. When youāre calculating the rent here, make sure to take into account youāll be charged roughly $20 a month for trash service, $18 a month for sewage, a $5 service fee and even more for electricity, even when itās not being used. Itās also $4 to do a single load of laundry here, so factor that into your budget too.
Thatās not even to get into how gross these apartments are. The parking lot is always filled to the brim with flies that swarm you. Everything in the kitchen and bathroom is falling apart, from the cabinets to the chipping paint on the walls. And god forbid you look behind anything⦠youāre just going to find crusty disgusting stuff that hasnāt been cleaned out in years. The stove is gross. The oven is gross. The carpets are gross. Itās all gross.
You better also be a deep sleeper if you want to live here, because people whizz by on their motorcycles at every hour and it is SO, SO loud. It is louder than someone screaming in your ear. I also hope you enjoy the smell of weed because when people smoke it in the outside common area it gets so bad it often permeates your apartment.
Iām sure other people have also mentioned that management here never fixes anything. Iām sure many residents here would be more than happy to tell you about the time the elevator was out for months on end despite repeated assurance it would be fixed soon.
In short, donāt move here. Just donāt. With the amount youāre going to pay in extra fees, itād be cheaper to rent a better apartment a little farther...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShamefully bad. Do not waste your time or money.
EDIT: I didn't think it could get worse. It did. The front gate broke and would not open. It remained unfixed for over a month and to enter you had to go in through the garage. You can also just open it by reaching your arm between the bars so it provides no security anyway.
If you are on the first floor, two of the bedrooms will have inward facing windows so your windows will be unusable. They do not provide natural light or fresh air, but they do make it super easy to hear the bustle of other tenants all day and night!
Also don't even THINK about getting a package shipped here. They just get thrown in the hallway (if you're lucky) and I cannot tell you how many signs I've seen from poor tenants asking for their stolen packages to please be returned.
There are more issues, I've barely even started, but I leave you with one more. Apparently several units have become infested with ants, and the infestation spread to our apartment. We have had the exterminators come several times but they haven't done anything but give us some traps the ants don't even care about, and say they can't do anything because the ants aren't just from our unit, but spread throughout the building. Very frustrating to have ants when its not even your fault.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Charged a $90 cleaning fee for a room so filthy on move in they must not have even bothered entering it (there was literally still trash on the floor). Room was also in very poor and deteriorated condition for the price.. Was promised 1.5 bath room, but this is a scam/lie. The room actually has 1 bathroom, and an attached second room leading into it with a standing shower. Not only does this mean they can't both be used at the second time so they essentially just added a door between the shower and bathtub to be able to say on paper "1.5 bath", but in our unit the shower doesn't even have a door so it is unusable. Also, beware that staff is not only disorganized but unhelpful and unresponsive.
It is quite clear that Apex's business model is to offer pathetically poor quality at overpriced rates to profit off of students who don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEver since new management, itās been terrible. The new manager has only cared about how this place looks and not the convenience and safety of the residents here. Earlier in the year everyone got a notice that the elevator would be down for 6 weeks and it was supposed to be done in the early half of July. I moved out a week ago (8/24) and it still wasnāt available for residents. I left a review on the community website around June or July stating that someone would get hurt and indeed someone did get hurt. My boyfriend and I were moving our mattress down the stairs (from the 4th floor) which was a pain in itself, but my boyfriend fell a couple steps down and cut himself on the glass protecting the fire extinguisher which was broken prior to him falling!! He got a cut and scraped his back up really bad. We couldnāt close the cut because a little chunk was taken out so he had to go to urgent care to get it glued. I have no idea why the new manager would start renovations on the elevator so close to when residents are moving out and moving in, knowing that itās dangerous to move furniture up and down a narrow and twisty flight of stairs. Not only that but the elevator was waiting for a Seattle official to review and test it, why not make that the main priority instead of painting the inside walls of Apex that literally no one cares about. Sure it looks nice, but Iād rather have a working elevator than move ALL of my furniture down 4 stories. Also good luck getting the parking spot you PAID for ($105/month) because of people taking them or it not being available due to maintenance around the building (which is for appearances of course because thatās all the new manager cares about š). On the brighter side, the maintenance people are really sweet people and they were definitely the better part of my experience at Apex, shoutout to Ron!! The actual living experience there isnāt all that great, the neighborhood is not the best, the trash situation is terrible, thereās constant noise from the highway, and youāre paying over $900 for ONE room out of 5 (easily over $1100 for utilities and if youāre...
