I donāt even know what to call my experience. I walked in with someone and we needed help finding a part. Granted neither of us knew what the part was or what to look for so naturally as one does when they donāt knowā¦we asked for help. Well to begin with we asked the first person at the register (an older woman with glasses) we asked for help and immediately she snipped at us saying that someone else would help us. That immediately put me off because she acted like it was an inconvenience that we needed help when there was literally no one else in the store. There were 3 workers, her, a young man, and an older man. Non of which came to help us. So we finally talked to the older man and I donāt know if his ego was too big to help us or if he was that incompetent but he was beyond rude. We tried to explain what we needed and we showed him the part and this man said NOTHING, we literally were talking to a brick wall. Finally he came back with something that was not compatible and it didnāt work and so we didnāt even bother trying to figure things out because this man was incredibly off putting and clearly didnāt know what he was talking about. The third worker, I really didnāt have a problem with, it was a younger man with a few tattoos, and a noticeable tattoo was lips on his neck (shout out to this dude) he didnāt know what we needed either but I respected that he said he didnāt know. Also Iām sorry to the tattoo guy because Iām sure it absolutely sucks to have to work with such incompetent old people who have no clue what the word nice or pleasant is. Anyway, I would recommend trying the auto parts store right down the road before you give this place even a chance, unless you know what you need and donāt have to talk to the workers because they are unpleasant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow. Amazing service, great people! Went in to the Shallotte, NC location after going to the local competition. I spoke with Carlos, my tech and salesman there and said I wanted to upgrade my 2010 Honda CRV battery from the puny 51F size to a 24F or 35 group size. Carlos was very helpful and was familiar with this upgrade (competition was not or willing to help). Note to all Honda CRV, Civic and 4 cyl Accord owners: You all have this tiny 51F battery installed. Come to this Autozone for an upgrade!
Anyway Carlos installed the new Duralast Gold battery, new battery tray and upgraded battery tie down quickly but carefully and greased the terminals all while chatting with me and following safety and mask guidelines. He also installed the rear wiper blade I purchased. The best and most painless experience I could have hoped for.
The battery install was great, hood closed great, car started great! Way more confidence in my battery now. Also this location was fully stocked and had everything I needed on hand. Cost for everything ( install was free) was just about $188. This is less than the $220 the Honda dealer wanted and that was for the stock OEM 51R battery.
Sorry for the long post. Donāt do many of these unless itās deserved. Autozone Shallotte, NC and Carlos for sure deserve it and will get my future business. Cannot remember their names but there was a polite young lady who took my initial call and another gentleman who rang up my wiper blade purchase while Carlos was installing my battery. All around, good people here....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used advance auto parts for a little over 10 years only because of my dad working there and that sweet employee discount of his I was able to use. During his time there I never used any other parts stores because I was saving allot of money shopping there only. It's been a blessing in disguise because of the fact that AutoZone is actually a much better shopping experience compared to advance auto. AutoZone carries a much larger selection of auto parts as well as detailing product and accessories. This store is very clean as well as being shockingly well organized. The staff here is very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I'll never darken the doors of advance auto or O'Reilly's ever again. I'd rather pay a little more to get stellar customer service and the joy of buying my odds and ends for my cars from a person that is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable vs saving that money and in turn buying those same things from someone that hates their job and knows nothing about a car or how it works. AutoZone is in my opinion the best of the best when it comes to auto part stores and their employees fit into that exact same best of the best category. There are a lot of businesses that could stand to take a few pointers from AutoZone on how to make buying the things you need an enjoyable experience and giving the absolute best customer service possible. Shop here and you will not be...
