Update: 10/3/2023:
I regret that Monro's customer service reduced this review to 1 star. After contacting them about the issues in my review, they claimed the break pad and rotor replacement fell within expected prices of $500. I was then offered a meager $100 certificate that could only be applied towards more Monro auto repair centers, which is essentially worthless to me, as I have now seen the quality of work that is exhibited by said facilities. The rep asked if I would like to escalate my issues up the chain of command, but it has been around a month now, with no call or contact from the company. Since they believe they can afford to perform shoddy work and lackluster damage control, I will advise anyone who will hear me to seek auto repair elsewhere. In their future, I hope Monro will prioritize integrity over scamming customers with unnecessaries and incomplete repairs, and miserly customer support.
Original Review:
Pros -Employees are very polite, and communicated with me throughout the repair process.
Cons -Upon inspection, my cars break pads and rotors were deemed to need replaced. I obliged, but this and my AC's repair cost upwards of double what I believe I should have been charged after consulting more knowledgeable parties. Furthermore, while I explicitly mentioned AC leaking, Mr. Tire was unable to find a leak. The fact that I paid $140 for refrigerant which I immediately vented into the atmosphere disappoints me. If I wanted to throw my money away, I would do it by gambling or playing the stock market.
All in all, my current lesson is to ask around for local mechanics, who will often be verified by word of mouth, and who can't afford to overcharge the same way a chain will. I will be using local talent from now on, and advise you...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! They set me up for an appointment on Sunday at 9:00 AM , called them at 1:00pm and they still didn't have my truck in for 2 tires and an alignment. Told me would be done at 3:00pm, got there at 3:30 pm and they just pulled it in. Then they came out to tell me they couldn't do the alignment because I had bent front end parts and that was a lie. The front end is fine! When I finally got my truck back at 4:30 pm all that was done was 2 tires! The next day I noticed a locking lug was missing, when I talked to a manager that morning he said nope it was gone you lost it we didn't period! That pissed me off telling me I don't know my own truck because it wasn't missing they lost it! I stopped in Monday evening to ask if they found it and the fool for a manager again swore nope why would we lie over a $2.00 lug which if he had half a brain would know in order to replace 1 locking lug you have to buy an entire $20.00 pack for all 4! I also asked where was my custom valve cap that was switched for a crappy one! ? After they looked like a deer in headlights they finally said oh it got lost, but again they tried to cover it up. After I had words with the ass for a manager still calling me a liar which is what pissed me off more than just being a man and admitting they lost it I stormed out to make a complaint with their corporate office. While I was on the phone the other guy behind the counter went out found my valve cap and brought it out to me. I thanked him and shook his hand for it. The manager needs to take lessons from him! I have a complaint in against them and was apologized to many times by the girl on the phone for the way he handled THEIR mistake! Like I said do not go to...
Read moreI arrived at your store today located at Shrewsbury Commons for a nail in my tire. I arrived 5 minutes before my 4:00pm appointment. When I called to schedule the appointment yesterday, I was informed I would be in and out within 30 minutes.
I walked in to the front office to see one employee with his head on the counter watching his phone, and the other not knowing how to fix his computer. I was finally checked in and proceeded to the waiting room...which is where the long wait began.
After 50 minutes, I went to the front desk to get an update on the tire patch. The employee went to the back and came back in stating my suburban was almost done. I informed him I had a minivan and he went back to check again. The employee came back and informed me they were just now pulling my vehicle in at 4:55 pm.
I stayed in the main lobby and listened to the front desk employee watching his phone while cursing at his phone screen periodically. Another employee emerged from the back, where he should have been working on vehicles, to show the front desk employee a video on his phone that he thought was entertaining.
I then walked outside to see further into the garage bays. I was very disappointed to see a different employee who was supposed to be working on my van, sitting down also watching his phone.
At 5:42 pm the van was pulled out of the garage bay. I went back into the lobby and could hear the front desk employee playing the Super Nintendo that was hooked up in the waiting room in the back.
I can undoubtedly say this is the most unprofessional buisness I have ever entered and will never return. I would not recommend this business to anyone for...
