Sons of Sicily — Restaurant in Shrewsbury

My son and I stopped here this afternoon while returning to Harrisburg from Baltimore and had some of the best service I've ever had at an eatery. We both ordered hot subs which were prepared and brought to us probably within 10 minutes of ordering. My son found that his sub had mayonaise on it which makes him sick. Not a food allergy... it just makes him sick. So he took it back to the counter and explained to the young lady that he couldn't eat the sub because of the mayo and was going to order a new sub which I was planning to pay for. The tall, tattooed gentleman asked my son if he'd asked for mayo which my son amswered "no" and explained why. The man asked, with obvious and genuine concern, if it was an allergy and seemed genuinely relieved that it wasn't. He apologized and told us he would have a new sandwich shortly. Within minutes a new sub was brought as well as a gift card for our "inconvenience". It was not an inconvenience at all and I'm certain the young lady taking our order didn't understand my son well because he's soft spoken and was trying to order through a face mask as well as the plexiglass partition they have up. We had Sons of Sicily cater our Christmas Wedding this December and oh my, where can I even begin with this amazing business and wonderfully kind and generous human beings. This is a business that truly cares about the service and food they provide, which can be very hard to find now a days. From the moment we began communicating with Julie, she immediately made us feel like family. The level of care and attention to detail she had for our vision, we are so grateful.

They went ABOVE and BEYOND and far exceeded our expectations. So much so we were basically just at a loss for words. All of our guests raved about how great the food was. Julie set up a gorgeous cocktail spread and an amazing hot chocolate bar that was an absolute hit! They even worked with us to provide hot cider during our ceremony and even late night pizza. Thank you Julie for the sled and Reindeer that became the premier guest at the photobooth. Guests endearingly named him Randy.

Choosing Sons of Sicily was one of the best decisions we made for our Wedding! We were regulars at the restaurant before so I know we will be stopping in again sometime soon. Today was a rough day and I had an issue with my order, so I called it in so that next time it could go differently. I was trying very hard not to be overly emotional because i know these guys are great people and that things simply happen sometimes. However, when I spoke to the manager not only did he listen patiently to me, but he also helped turn things around by being understanding of my feelings and fixed things for my order very promptly. It was very much appreciated as normally a manager would not be so calm and reassuring. He never gave any impression of simply placating me or annoyance that most managers tend to do, and he never rushed the conversation. I actually felt like he genuinely cared and that's hard to find in this kind of business. If you plan to order from them I strongly recommend it.
